It's not quite time to don your woolly jumpers or stoke up your log fires for the winter - still some tennis to be played this season!

An exciting, mathematically challenging WTFs continues, new Davis Cup soon, etc...

Bless him- for the last time in 2019, Rafa has combed his hair for a trophy ceremony Grin.

JaneJeffer · 24/11/2019 20:32

"We fighted hard" - ah Rafaish Grin

Raahh · 24/11/2019 20:34

I will miss Rafaish when it is no more. Grin

Fizzywinegum · 24/11/2019 20:35

It’s ok Rafa we still love you even though you’re going a bit thin on top Grin

Raahh · 24/11/2019 20:35

he likes to think we haven't noticed Grin.

Fizzywinegum · 24/11/2019 20:36

It's like when your children are learning to speak and you don't want to correct them because it's so cute. Never grow up Rafa Grin

Raahh · 24/11/2019 20:37

Sergi is very chuffed.

He's a Pointless answer, is Bruguera.

Raahh · 24/11/2019 20:38

No, never grow up.

I don't intend to.

Ds went through a couple years of calling Father Christmas, 'Farmer' Christmas.

I loved that.

JaneJeffer · 24/11/2019 20:41

Grin DS2 loved checkup with his dinner.

Fizzywinegum · 24/11/2019 20:43

That’s cute Raahh - I still smile at the thought of Rafa proudly saying “Marylebone” as if it couldn’t have been pronounced any other way than the way he was saying it Smile

JaneJeffer · 24/11/2019 20:43

I could watch that footage of Rafa walking around with his top pulled up for the rest of the night!

Raahh · 24/11/2019 20:51
Grin

I thought they might give this 'inspirational' award to Bautista- but given he has played most of the matches, then it isn't surprising.

Raahh · 24/11/2019 20:51

checkup Grin

Raahh · 24/11/2019 20:53

Fizzy I probably pronounced it the same way as Rafa for years. Grin I mean- when you are told to use phonics, how else do you pronounce it? Grin.

Raahh · 24/11/2019 20:54

Pity Raonic wasn't there. I do miss Milos a bit.

JaneJeffer · 24/11/2019 20:56

I thought RBA would get it as well but then he may have felt it was the sympathy vote.

Loved the fancy unveiling of the trophy even if I was secretly hoping they wouldn't be able to open the container.

Raahh · 24/11/2019 20:57

This will be the first year, Spain have been without Ferrer, too, I suppose- for a long time.

Raahh · 24/11/2019 20:59
Grin true, about the sympathy vote. He's very much a get on with it sort of player. He 'd probably have hated it.

He gets my vote for sporting behaviour , though , after his match against Murray in Melbourne. He was a true gent. (though the 'obituary' was premature and cringyGrin).

JaneJeffer · 24/11/2019 20:59

The king of Spain doesn't look very Spanish!

Raahh · 24/11/2019 21:00

Oh this is nice.

No more tennis for a while Sad

JaneJeffer · 24/11/2019 21:01

Rafa is so happy. I love him.

Raahh · 24/11/2019 21:03

There are a lot of young players i like- but I have been invested in Rafa's career for longer than most (although I still stalk Edberg, even though he no longer playsGrin).

I am used to him not playing for long periods with injury- but never playing again? Can't think about that.

Raahh · 24/11/2019 21:05

68 service holds- and there they were at the tour finals , waffling on about him losing a match without getting a break point.

Never count him out Grin.
