Yes raahh I can't really hear without them ! I'd say I must lip read a bit but I can hear the radio with them on and I don't lip read the radio Really annoying at night because I have to sit up to read or listen to the radio because my glasses get squished if I lay down.
Today's story was dull. Doctors does seem to be a reunion for Hollyoaks doesn't it wonder if Kurt will make an appearance soon ?

Have I missed much? I've not watched it at all this week and I'm pretty sure I fell asleep watching Friday's episode (don't judge, it was nearly Midnight).

Radio tends to have clearer voices and fewer distractions.

Bingle that must be it- I really must rely on visuals more than I realise- and although I have perfect hearing, very often use subtitles on the tv (by my family are noisy).

blame it's funny isn't it? I just switch off when I take my glasses off. Probably a good thing they stay on from the minute I get up to going to bed, or it could cause issues. My dds (who got glasses a bit younger than me, both at 8) are just the same. Or they are purposely ignoring me. Actually, it's probably the latter .

I reckon new foster child will have a Munchaussen by proxy story, her mum makes her wear gloves, not actually allergic to nuts, perhaps.

It's time they had this storyline on Doctors. Ruhma can walk in on a woman wailing and bent double (as I spent 8 hours doing on Saturday night)- only to find she is not in labour, it's kidney stones.

Hello, my name is Cakewineorgin and I’m a long standing secret doctors addict! Sorry if this has been discussed on the previous thread, but does anyone else think Zara’s BF is the twin who has botched the operation? I initially thought it was when they first met and he had the incident whilst she watched his op, but surely she would know there were complications as it was her patient? It would explain why he is suddenly around and looking for somewhere to stay, especially if his wife found out about Zara and booted him out.

Yeah, definitely something dodgy about Zara's squeeze.

I think he's angling to move himself in with her, and there isn't a twin.

Just butting in to say yes to the glasses/hearing thing! I have a -12 prescription and the rest of the family have 20/20 vision so no one gets it. I also use subtitles whenever possible and have to really concentrate on the spoken word, much prefer written instruction and pictures to youtube videos etc.

Hello Cakewine Welcome to the secret corner of MN that is all niceness. Apart from the hating Daniel thing, and for that we can all be excused.

And we use subtitles too...DH has some hearing loss and I can;t understand the mumblings that they all seem to do these days (Gimmer alert)

Also, sometimes (especially on the News) the erors they make are really funny.
