Tina got killed off surely by Bill Patterson? She said when she was caught with her fingers in the safe that it was only her not Mark Bonnar's wife to save her. The room where the safe was had the door closed when the wifey went into the shop so I reckon she's in there.

I enjoyed this immensely but hard to keep up with BBC Scotland and BBC Two showing the episodes staggered.

I was wondering if the younger brother already knew the old man they ran over before the crash due to the record collection? And therefore plotted with the lady neighbour and the "neice" to frame Max as he found out he was using his record shop for the money laundering? Or am I overthinking it?

What was the ending

Max went to speak to the woman neighbour, saying that Jake and Alice were leaving the country and so would take the fall for all of it. He didn’t know that Jake and Alice were listening, so the three of them decided to land Max in it, And his wife threw him out, Bill Paterson took over his law firm , so he lost everything, and the dodgy policeman arrested him. The end shot was Max in the back of the police car being driven away, with the others, including the private investigator watching.
It was excellent series, too short imo, but sometimes less is more.

Why did max tell the neighbor that?

He loves his brother. Surely wouldn’t dob him in

Max loved his brother, but at heart was a selfish git, whoscrewed up his brother’s chances over the years, and he thought that Jake would be happy to leave with the fake niece and start a new life with her. Max was dodgy with the money lenders , bent police and the money laundering so it all finally caught up with him.

I’m glad I stuck with it past the first episode. I found the first episode really slow and a bit predictable but it got a lot more interesting in the next episodes.
