Gosh, does Gorka want another partner on this show? Even if asked directly why it wasn't him, he should just answer "I would have been 100% delighted to help out, but Kevin did a phenomenal job. All our dancers are such team players"

Unless, of course, he practises EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE MALE PROFESSIONALS' ROUTINES just on the off-chance of injury and then empties a bag of marbles not the practise room floor.

still don't get the judge vote thing. so 2 judges say Catherine and 1 mike.....so why does Shirley then get to decide. it was explained to me last year, but I can't remember.

Agree with the comments re Girls, he's always been one of my favourites but I've not been impressed with the constant liking of tweets about him not having a partner. It makes him look petulant, while Graziano has behaved graciously.

Because Shirley is Head Judge so she has the casting vote - her vote carries more weight. Even though it was 2 - 2, because Shirley voted for Mike, then Mike stays.

Felt very sorry for Catherine, she looked devastated. However, it wasn't a very good dance. She is tall with heavy legs compared to her top half and this shows in her latin - she just didn't have the necessary speed and precision.

Did I hear a much louder cheer for Chris than anyone else, when it was announced he was safe?

Totally agree with this. Couldn't stand Catherine. Found her whiny, fake and those VTs with her gushing about her toddler and husband and friends... just yuk. She won't be missed.

I voted for Chris because he's one of my favourites and alongside watching good dancers like Michelle and Kelvin, I also enjoy watching likeable duffers with the right attitude improve.

Samcro, it wasn't really 2-1, it was 2-2 after all the judges had had their votes. When it's tied, whoever Shirley gave her vote to goes through.

I'm glad Johannes has gone. I still can't warm to him and that was only compounded by his reaction last night. He was crying more than Catherine and it somehow became all about him. He should have held it together, said some nice words about his partner and comforted them, not the other way round. After all, that's it for Catherine. He'll be back in some capacity for the rest of the series and probably next year aswell.

Mike danced better in the dance off and deserved to go through. He's had some shit concepts, costumes and music but has sucked it up, listened to the judge's comments and tried to learn from them. He should suit a Charleston next week but I'd also like to see him given a proper gimmick-free dance.

Catherine will definitely be doing the strictly tour as well, they always include the ex-soap actress who isn't currently filming. Emma Barton for example would never get two months off Eastenders to go on a Strictly tour. And yes, I really like Johannes' dancing but he does play up to the whole diva thing.

I think Alex was lucky that she had contemporary dance. If she had been doing virtually anything else, it would have been even harder for a pro to learn the dance in such a short space of time and for them both to then dance it to a certain level. The majority of the dance was separate, not in hold, so it was far easier to just watch Alex and judge her on her own ability, rather than if she somehow had to steer Kevin around in a quickstep, for example. I'm not taking anything away from them, they both did well in a tricky situation. She was lucky that the choice of dance didn't make their problems a whole lot worse.

I am actually devestated they have gone Sad Shirley is no longer my friend. Grin The main show was good I enjoyed it but the drama injuries here there and everywhere Kev stepping in was fab and he really didn't make it all about him which was nice.

I loved Johannes's dancing but I agree he needs to learn to be a bit more "teamy". His comment about being accepted for who he is suggests his very flamboyant character may not have gone down well in the past, and maybe on his home turf.

I'm not sure SCD is the right place for him actually, but I hope it leads to the sort of work, and acceptance, he craves.

I would LOVE to see him partner Rylan!

Just caught up, having been away on Sat. I watched the show last night then ff-ed to the end of the results and was VERY surprised!

I think I might need to re-watch if I haven't deleted it.

Do you think they might be just trying not to lose too many Male celebs at once or something?
