Watched this last night. Surprised I couldn't find a thread here on it. Anyone else seen it yet?

Me too! I came on MN this morning looking for a thread on it. I too watched it last night. It was great. DH felt it moved too slowly. But I think it was perfectly paced. It's the comedown after all the fast-paced intensity of BB. And that's what it needed to be. Aaron Paul carried the whole thing incredibly well.

MrsPellegrinoPetrichor · 12/10/2019 08:47

We watched it last night. Too slow and not enough laughs. I really think they should've left the ending of BB as it was.

blighter · 12/10/2019 08:48

I loved it but didn't see it all as I skipped through it quickly as I was supposed to wait and watch it with dh and dd who were out but not for long.. I'm looking forward to watching it again. I can't say anything else as I forgot to put spoilers in the title and don't want to ruin it for those that haven't seen it yet 😊

I turned it off after 20 minutes. I’m going to try again tonight when I’m less tired but it was just too slow.

HappydaysArehere · 12/10/2019 08:52

My goodness! What am I missing. Is it on Netflix as Breaking Bad was? I hope so as I haven’t got any of the other paid for streaming services.

Whistle73 · 12/10/2019 08:58

@MrsPellegrinoPetrichor not enough laughs? Have you seen Breaking Bad?!!

MrsPellegrinoPetrichor · 12/10/2019 09:09

Yes I have seen BB ,twice! The beauty of the series was that it was broken up with absolutely hilarious scenes along with the gritty stuff.

MrsPellegrinoPetrichor · 12/10/2019 09:14

The film was like the episode with the fly!!

WhiteVixen · 12/10/2019 09:15

@HappydaysArehere yes it’s on Netflix. It’s a film that continues Jesse’s story after the end of BB.

BringBackDoves · 12/10/2019 09:16

I really enjoyed it - Aaron Paul was fantastic. It felt like the right ending too.

MrsPellegrinoPetrichor · 12/10/2019 09:16

I loved seeing Skinny and Brendan again, their characters are hilarious.

StoorieHoose · 12/10/2019 09:18

I agree with pp. Too slow and I agree that BB had laugh out loud bits and this didn't. 6 years is a long time between BB and El Camino - they should have left it.

I'll stick to Better Call Saul

gloriousred · 12/10/2019 09:27

Oh I loved it! Watched the last 2 episodes of the final season before it as a reminder then watched El Camino.

Me and DH LOL'd at quite a few scenes!

I really enjoyed it for what it was. It gave me 2 hours of contentment as it took me back to the best show ever made that changed the way we watched television.

It was total fanservice and I am okay with that!

Ledkr · 12/10/2019 09:31

I loved it too. Lovely to be back in bb land.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 12/10/2019 09:42

We stuck it for half an hour.Very dull imo.

Tootyfilou · 12/10/2019 11:11

I thought it was great. Aa perfect ending to BB ( although I secretly hoped that Walt was still alive Blush ). Aaron Paul was fantastic.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 12/10/2019 11:12

I was really disappointed in it, found it very dull.

SinkGirl · 12/10/2019 11:18

AP was fantastic but I must admit I found it quite disappointing. I think this is because Better Call Saul set my expectations too high, and proved that Breaking Bad wasn’t just a fluke.

It didn’t feel like a film - it felt like two episodes of a new series, which frankly could have been condensed into one. I would love to see what happened to Jesse after BB ended, but found this didn’t answer that really - there was nothing particularly unexpected in there.

AP was excellent and Jesse Plemons was probably the best part of it all - hard to suspend your disbelief when he’s aged so much since BB though!

1984isnow · 12/10/2019 11:19

It felt more like a spin off episode than a movie. When I got close to the end, I went back through to check I'd not missed any big scenes, as I was expecting a bit more to happen.

SinkGirl · 12/10/2019 11:20

Should have said, Better Call Saul is up there with my favourite TV shows of all time and I think the last season was actually better than much of BB (which was of course amazing, but I rewatched it all before the last season of BCS and I definitely remember it as being better than it was - some of it is incredible but good chunks of it weren’t).

HappydaysArehere · 12/10/2019 19:09

Thank you WhiteVixen. We are just about to look for it.

slavetothemoney · 12/10/2019 19:35

Robert Forster (vacuum cleaner fixer guy) died yesterday, hours after El Camino premiered Sad

ReturnofSaturn · 12/10/2019 19:44

I've watched it. Thought it was rather boring tbh.

Tryingtogetitright · 12/10/2019 21:55

Just watched it. I was a bit disappointed. Felt like I kept waiting for something else to happen. Will there be another one or is that it?

SinkGirl · 12/10/2019 22:00

So sad about Forster - he worked on so many brilliant things and had such a huge body of work. I’ll miss seeing him pop up in things.
