I've just seen that Katya is making her Panto debut in The Wizard of Oz at Peterborough this year.

I thought Anneka would be safe because I assume Kevin is popular with Strictly viewers and I thought she would probably be too.

Having seen her ITT interview I am glad she has gone. None of them get to choose the dance or song do they? Why should she be any different?

I didn't think Kelvin and Oti's dance was that great and I say that as a huge Oti fan. I thought their lifts looked pretty bad and was pretty sure they went wrong. I was waiting for the judges to say it but they didn't.

I do like Kelvin though. My favourite is Chris although highly unlikely he could win (would love to see Karen win). I also really like Dev and Karim. Karim may be a ringer but I love his arm movements (I loved Jay's arms too!).

Out of the women I like Katherine the most. I also quite like posh Emma and Alex. Really can't take to Michelle although I love Giovanni

Oh yes, that first lift was HORRENDOUS. The first part didn't get high enough so the middle part was also too low, and at the end Oti ended up putting a hand on the floor.

It was a fun dance with lots of good stuff (and he did get some swivel in, even if the bit at the start didn't have it) but it definitely wasn't worth full marks.

And even if you knew nothing about the Charleston, you'd be able to say Anneka wasn't doing it properly just by looking at Kevin.

I mean, I know that's likely in all the dances, but this was So Noticeable.

I’m still confused: when Katya Jones joined the showed and danced with Ed Balls, you thought she was Katya Virshilas returning to the show after getting married and changing her name (and her face!)?

I didn't realise KV had left yes, to be fair she never really made an impression on me and I just thought "oh! Katya must've got married"
I haven't got an excuse like face blindness but there was a series I watched whilst quite unwell and I think that's were the mix up occurred

I don’t remember there ever being a Katya before Katya Jones. That’s a combination of having missed the occasional series and having menopausal memory issues. I’ll have to have a look on Wikipedia to see if I can remember her partners.

She danced with Phil Tufnell, Gavin Henson (semi-finals I think) and a BBC presenter of some variety I think.

She's in Take the Lead with Antonio Banderas too.

And to segue nearly from that... all dancing the same dance to the same music is exactly what the man who that film is based on did! He set up a programme that went into schools to teach children how to ballroom and Latin dance. They learn exactly the same short sequences (no matter which school they're at or which teacher goes in) and there is a big knockout tournament each year.

I’ve looked her up, she was only in three series. First with Phil Tufnell, I remember him but not her. Second with Gavin Henson, I think I was abroad as I didn’t see any of that series. Lastly with Dan Lobb, I definitely saw that series as I remember the other celebs but I don’t remember her and I have no clue at all who Dan Lobb is.

Ex-(and fairly rubbish) tennis player. Dreadful dancer, got arsey when he was eliminated early on and made some crappy comments blaming Katya for it, iirc.

Sadly I can’t find any of the relevant training clips on YouTube, but the cowboy refusal, the central heating quip, and ‘calm down love, it’s only Tuesday’ all point to the latter for me.
