Maybe it's that thing that people get - compassion fatigue? The exposure to trauma is so sustained in H&A that if you care intensely about everything, you'll have a breakdown. So it's just: meh, Jazzy's being held by a crazed gang - there must be a "y" in the day. Anyway, back to MEEEEEEEE and my ishoos.

Airy apparently Emily Symons was asked to wear flat shoes for a beach scene a while back, she insisted to the director that Maz wouldn’t be caught dead in a pair of flip flops (thongs 😆) and she’s never been seen without her high heels since! In a soap which doesn’t really subscribe too heavily to character progression or consistency, I thought that was a really nice touch.

I’ve been killing myself all week about the lack of angst about Jazzy Jeff’s kidnapping... the best was surely Irene giving herself a good talking-to and being all cheerful and positive on the day of the last supper. ‘I’m going to have a great day and nothing’s going to spoil it’ or whatever she said... yes, least of all the violent abduction of your long term lodger who had something akin to a mother-daughter relationship with you for the past couple of years 😐

Another day, another lack of fucks given about Jazz. Leah taking Justin out for brekkie ‘You’re in a good mood’ observes Roo ‘Yes well blah blah XYZ’ says Leah, reeling off the many reasons she’s so cheerful. Not one shadow of a concern for her poor mate being held hostage by ruthless killers 😂

Raffy gone 😭 I’m so sad, I loved her and Ryder before he became a selfish shit bag. I don’t mind admitting there were tears in my eyes when they said their goodbyes (shame). I could still see a spark between them (I really need to get a life, I’m old enough to be their mum). Ryder obviously being set up for older storylines now as the actor is getting a bit 90210, ie 30yr old playing 17.

I hope Karen is gone for good, I never like H&A’s ‘feisty woman with a soft side’ trope, as usually they are such cunts when they first arrive, any chance of me ever liking them is immediately ruined.

Karen does my head in because she doesn't deserve how much Dean loves her and every time I see them together, I just see this little boy desperate for his mother's love and approval but having to do all the parenting instead.

The Jazzy storyline is just weird - it feels like it was cobbled together and filmed separately to everything else going on!

And I'm really sad to see Raffy go too - I thought it was quite abrupt, and wondered whether her and Ryder might have a little smooch before she went! Maybe not though - Ryder's storylines are rubbish at the mo too and he's really annoying since he broke up with Raffy.

Jasmine, Colby, and Robbo are just in their own spin off at the moment really. Completely separate to the rest of Summer Bay.

I agree about Karen. It's the same storyline every time she rolls into town. I know it's realistic given the mental health storyline, but they surely need to draw the line somewhere.

Irene is forgiven for not caring atm, I doubt she has space to actually process it. Meal was weird, def cobbled together last minute thought and Mac moved her expression enough to look awkward at being invited at least.

Willow looked genuinely concerned the day of the empty warehouse raid and impressed Bells even cares
