Changed the name of this thread as we were very upset with the ending of series 3 out in Bangladesh! Waiting out for news of series 4. In the meantime, we are reviewing the seven series of Soldier Soldier.

Well, after my two confusing messages, I'm not sure if either of you are going to turn up, but I'm on here and will wait and see!

Oh good Rhu, glad I didn't totally confuse you. Is it a new Love Your Garden? I usually cry through it too. And I do love Alan Titchmarsh. He's by far and away my favourite presenter.

So here we are on Series 5 - I think the episode is "Far Away".

Ilovelblue · 21/01/2020 21:00

Here goes! If we need another thread, I will try and create it as quickly as I can.

It was an old one on ITV3 but I hadn't seen it before, so it was sad and lovely too.

Rhubarb01 · 21/01/2020 21:01

Still in Sydney by the harbour bridge.

Ilovelblue · 21/01/2020 21:02

Looks as if we are in Sydney.

The lovely Major Taylor making a speech about the Battle of Waterloo if memory serves me right.

Trying to believe they are really having their dinner there. Sadie has a rather grim Mess dress. Watch out Tucker's got access to the booze again.

Ilovelblue · 21/01/2020 21:04

Oh no, I wonder if I've confused eejit? No sign of her.

Rhubarb01 · 21/01/2020 21:04

Meanwhile, back in Blighty.....Donna and Marsha are having a girl's night in with a bottle of wine.

Ilovelblue · 21/01/2020 21:05

Macaulay is really growing up! What will he be? 4 or possibly 5?

Rhubarb01 · 21/01/2020 21:06

DD has just called me, bless her, but I've put her off for an hour.

Now then, it's Donna's birthday and here's Nancy as well. Nice to see the girls back together.

Rhubarb01 · 21/01/2020 21:07

Has Major Taylor ever been to Warminster??? I have, and there's no way it looks like Sydney!

Rhubarb01 · 21/01/2020 21:07

So, Sadie's dull dress has three pips on her shoulder - cor, glamorous or what.

Ilovelblue · 21/01/2020 21:08

Back in Oz, the lads are getting ready for the night of entertainment. Oh no, Sadie is smoking some sort of cheroot (is that what they're called). It doesn't suit her at all.

Looks a very posh sort of evening.

The girls are having a night in to celebrate Donna's birthday.

Both Donna and Nancy are in a muddle over what to do with their lives and careers. Nancy is less keen on her career now and wants children.

Oh, Jeremy is a poet...or at least he's memorised one. Michael looks bored.

Ilovelblue · 21/01/2020 21:11

Jeremy has wasted talent there! He's been a compere before and now does poetry recitals!

OP posts:
Rhubarb01 · 21/01/2020 21:12

Oh goodness here are the upper class do gooders...officer's wives!

Ilovelblue · 21/01/2020 21:12

Georgina, the padre's wife, is the doctor's secretary in Call the Midwife.

OP posts:
Rhubarb01 · 21/01/2020 21:13

Donna's making a great impression. I think Marsha feels a bit uncomfortable now she has to socialise with the upper ranks.

Ilovelblue · 21/01/2020 21:14

You would not want to get involved with those wives of officers. They make me cringe!

OP posts:
Rhubarb01 · 21/01/2020 21:14

Sadie's not very officer-like is she?

Oh goodness, here comes a Dave, Paddy and Joe special. It's Waterloo but not as you know it.

Ilovelblue · 21/01/2020 21:14

Jeremy is back again - doing his compere act again!

I absolutely love the lads dressed up as Abba. It still makes me laugh and I've watched it about 3 times!

OP posts:
Ilovelblue · 21/01/2020 21:15

Do you think Sadie fancies Rory? (And who wouldn't really). They seem to be sitting rather close together.

OP posts:
Rhubarb01 · 21/01/2020 21:16

This really is very funny. Just look at the tough Aussie sergeant's expression of disgust. Michael prefers this to poetry readings methinks.
