Changed the name of this thread as we were very upset with the ending of series 3 out in Bangladesh! Waiting out for news of series 4. In the meantime, we are reviewing the seven series of Soldier Soldier.

Just confirming Tuesday is fine.

eejittwo · 12/01/2020 23:41

Yay! to both,Rhu.

Morning all. Suffered with a migraine yesterday so a bit spaced out today and staying in bed for a bit. I wondered if the BBC had put all the OG series on iplayer again ahead of the new series starting but still no dates given.

I did find this however:

Anyone else heard anything?

Yes Ilove on The "Our Girl Army" Instagram page they are confirming that MK is leaving after four years in the job. Speculation of course about possibility of LT returning for any future series but they are categorically saying that is not going to happen. Not sure how definite they feel they can be about that declaration though.

eejittwo · 13/01/2020 13:39

"will begin with Georgie in Manchester struggling to come to terms with Elvis' death," - erm, shouldn't that have been what the Nigeria / broccoli / Bangladesh episodes were all about, rather than hpw it panned out.
Never did understand how 2 Section, seeing a second SF chappie blown up in, apparently, only a few months, didn't ALL go down with the screaming abdabs and PTSD.

eejittwo · 13/01/2020 13:41

PS - are any of the newbies drool-worthy?

Ilovelblue · 13/01/2020 14:30

I think I need to Google the names eejit. None of them ring any bells so far.

I have a feeling OG will probably end altogether after this series. I reckon TG will not be too unhappy. It's done well despite a few things the diehard Molly and CJ fans haven't liked. That said, I would gladly see another few episodes with LT, and if there was a tiny little reunion scene with CJ even just 5 minutes I'd be eternally grateful to the BBC.

Ilovelblue · 13/01/2020 20:50

I pretty much agree with you Rhu. In fact, I completely agree with you. I can't see myself feeling too sad at the end of this series, whereas after the end of series 1, I went for weeks feeling almost bereft!

Evening ladies, ready for parade.

Ilovelblue · 14/01/2020 20:59

I'm here but might need to pop into the kitchen as my cake isn't quite ready for my fellow volunteers tomorrow morning.

Oh, fabby - Paddy and Dave.

Ilovelblue · 14/01/2020 21:04

Back in the room.

We're in Australia.

About a minute late - but here. They are down under in a 'Town Like Alice' which is actually Alice - I love that novel and the film - best ever version was the Australian production with Bryan Brown and Helen Morse.

Ok, so Jeremy is chatting up a new member of the Fusiliers by the look of it!

eejittwo · 14/01/2020 21:05

In their bush hats, they look like It Ain't Half Hot, Mum

Ilovelblue · 14/01/2020 21:05

Don't want to spoil it for you eejit but the lovely Major Taylor has quite a decent part in these Australian episodes.

Looks like Dave's lip is running away with him again. So, just in case we don't know what's coming the Aussie soldier is signposting what might happen this episode.

Ilovelblue · 14/01/2020 21:06

Rather poignant I suppose, given the terrible catastrophes at the moment with the bush fires.

Whoopee...a barbie - or could it be a Barbie?

eejittwo · 14/01/2020 21:07

What woould we do without Dave!

Rhubarb01 · 14/01/2020 21:08

So it's a Bird!!! - Remember Corporal Bird from Bluestone 42?

Ilovelblue · 14/01/2020 21:09

The lads are all having Steve on. He is about to make a fool of himself.
