Changed the name of this thread as we were very upset with the ending of series 3 out in Bangladesh! Waiting out for news of series 4. In the meantime, we are reviewing the seven series of Soldier Soldier.

Hope you had a good day, ilove. Did the rain stay away till after you were on the return journey? It was atrocious throughout the evening.

Ilovelblue · 20/12/2019 09:03

We had a great day, thank you eejit. It wasn't even particularly cold (I don't feel the cold much if I am honest). My friend had never been on the Royal Yacht so we went out to Leith first of all then came back into the city centre. It was fine all day but once we got somewhere around Carlisle on the return journey, the rain and wind started.

Hope everyone had a good Christmas and all the best for 2020. Just on to confirm the next watchalong is on Tuesday and to ask if anyone else has seen the split second clip of Georgie and co in the BBC forthcoming attractions trailer.

Ilovelblue · 04/01/2020 22:43

Hi eejit. Happy New Year to you too! YESSSSS! I saw it last night. I meant to post something on here but it was late and I'd put my laptop away.

I was watching that tribute thing on New Year's Day to Miranda, the TV comedy. I was never really a fan of it but roughly got the gist what it was about. They were showing some old clips and I was sure there was a glimpse of LP on one of them, looking incredibly young. Google then confirmed that he had been in one of the episodes.

Did everyone manage to stay germ free over Christmas?

Tuesday at 9 pm it is.

Happy New Year everyone. All's well here at Lechley Park - touch wood.

I haven't seen that trailer yet, so will wait with bated breath. Actually, it will be interesting to see what the new series will be like. Wonder if we'll have finished Soldier, Soldier by then?

See you on Tuesday!

Selfsettling3 · 04/01/2020 23:03

Sorry to interrupt ladies. I’ve just watched the last series again and I have forget have upset I was with captain James and the writers. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I can watch on iPlayer or Netflix in 15 mins ish block while up with the baby during the night?

Ilovelblue · 04/01/2020 23:04

Rhu don't get too excited - the OG bit lasts for all of a second! Happy New Year to you as well. Glad you've stayed germ free over the festive season.

I totally lost track of the days and have to say, I am quite glad things are getting back to normal.

Selfsetting hello! We too were not happy with the ending of the previous series.

We are currently watching the old series of Soldier Soldier, seven of them in total. I think eejit is getting them somewhere from the internet (I am sure she can remind us, I have totally forgotten). Rhu and I have the DVD sets. As they were originally on ITV, there are breaks for adverts so they would be easy to watch in blocks. I bought my DVDs from eBay and they were very cheap.

I've tracked that trailer down now ilove and I see what you mean. Brief and not giving much away.

Hi selfsettling - yes the whole Georgie and CJ thing never happened as far as we're concerned. eejit has a plan to bring Elvis back via a Dallas style shower moment.

As for Netflix series - I like "Timeless" - think Dr Who with history, conspiracy theories, a bit of humour and some eye candy thrown in.. Each episode is about 40 mins. If you can find Bluestone 42 anywhere you might enjoy the black humour. Not sure if it's on iplayer.

eejittwo · 05/01/2020 08:44

selfsetting - I get Soldier Soldier on UKTV.

Ilovelblue · 07/01/2020 09:57

Morning everyone! My (not so) secret guilty pleasure is watching Doctors on BBC1. I admit it's trash. Who should turn up yesterday but Captain Azzizi as a prisoner sharing a cell with one of the wrongly accused GPs.

Ready and waiting, ladies

Ilovelblue · 07/01/2020 21:00

Help, which episode!

OP posts:
eejittwo · 07/01/2020 21:00

3 - I think

eejittwo · 07/01/2020 21:01

Boxing - especially for Rhu ...

Ilovelblue · 07/01/2020 21:02

Got it. I was on the right one after all.

OP posts:
Ilovelblue · 07/01/2020 21:02

Is Rhu with us? I just LOVE boxing! Haha.

Rhubarb01 · 07/01/2020 21:04

I am a little late to log on but have the episode running while I am trying to get myself together after a minor domestic incident involving a lazy dog and curiously wet duvet!

Yes, flipping boxing....yawn, yawn!

eejittwo · 07/01/2020 21:04

Well, the loanshark looks a poisonous creep.

Ilovelblue · 07/01/2020 21:04

Colette's sister has just turned up. Meanwhile in the gym, the PT instructor is taking no nonsense!

Dougray Scott looks rather handsome.

Rhubarb01 · 07/01/2020 21:06

Well, there's a Travelodge in Warminster...might have to do. Perhaps they could go halves?

Ilovelblue · 07/01/2020 21:06

That settee looks like some French ticking I found in my Mum's sewing machine after she died - it was about 50 years old!

OP posts:
Rhubarb01 · 07/01/2020 21:07

ooh, that loanshark should be twirling his moustache while he sneers!

Here's Joy again.

Ilovelblue · 07/01/2020 21:07

Oh dear Joe, what sort of a mess have you managed to get yourself into?

OP posts:
Rhubarb01 · 07/01/2020 21:08

So, Joy has a job working with SAFA.

Now Jeremy is a boxer too - can't they do some other sport. It's nearly as bad as manoeuvres.
