I've been watching ITT and have been impressed with how well everyone is faking enthusiasm about their (atrocious) song choices for movie week. I almost believe them.

Checking in

I've never met anyone who liked movie week so not sure why they persevere with it and think gimmicks are the way to go. Also think it's those silly gimmicks that probably put bigger name celebrities off, imagine dressing like a pokemon or whatever it is they're doing this year.

Movie Week > Halloween Week, but only just about.

Anything is better than the Monster Mash danced by Frankenstein.

I like halloween week more than movie week, but that might be because it's a few weeks later so more duffers have left and the dancing is a bit better. Aliona used to do some great halloween dances, Monkseal used to say that she used halloween as an opportunity to choreograph her personal sexual fantasies.

Just caught up with It Takes Two. I've said before that I didn't like Movie Week because of all the faffing about and songs being unsuitable for the dances. Having watched Emma and Aljaz though, I think they will be the least offensive.

I know Karim is doing Kung Fu Panda, but his samba batucadas look very good.

I was just wondering today why Rylan can’t cover when Zoe is sick. I much prefer him to Gethin. It’s funny, Rylan has so many quirks that I would normally find off-putting, like bad grammar, overly groomed and a slightly grating tone of voice, yet his personality and intelligence are so charming that I can’t help but like him. He’s a totally genuine person wrapped in a not very genuine exterior. Gethin seems to be his polar opposite, insincere but normal looking.

I don't mind Gethin, though I'm suspicious of anyone who nearly married Katherine Jenkins.

I didn’t like Gethin’s obvious discomfort dancing with Ian during ITT. It’s a dance show Gethin! Ian’s just demonstrating the moves. He doesn’t fancy you and you don’t need to make it clear you don’t fancy him.

I’d like to think he can’t be homophobic when he does a lot of work on Strictly but he looked like an embarrassed 14 year old being told to dance with another boy at the disco because there were no girls available.

There's an Ole Man who sleeps in there, so please park considerately and don't kick the skip as you dismount. You can lean your bike against the skip if you haven't got a kickstand but for fuck's sake don't wake him up please try not to disturb his nocturnal slumbers he's a bad-tempered old bugger as he finds it hard to doze off again once he's awake.
