well, at least last night was not full of tears (from the winner ) and all the committee members making excuses and apologising for Serena's loss, like last year.

I don't think I will ever get over last year. And I really don't think it should be forgotten. The have Serena on a pedestal she does not deserve to be on.

The ceremony is always OTT and cringe-central. Last year was excruciating, idk why I put myself through it. Ugh. It brings back nightmares.

kazza that programme sounds fab. Matthew Rhys reads a few audiobooks as well iirc, he's got a very nice voice.

Fizzy I noticed Medvedev continued the same banana at that last change of ends!

I was thinking of the Djok-Delpo ceremony, it was awful, but of course the women's was awful as well.

I missed the Delpo one- I fell asleep .

But I couldn't tear myself away from the car crash that was the end of the women's final. It went on for ages. And then I listened to the press conferences, and Patrick, and the commentators- and everyone had an opinion.
it was just bizarre.

He's got a lovely Welsh accent, hasn't he private which can come as a bit of a shock to those who only know him from his American shows

It's quite sad that there was hardly anyone watching the wheelchair events.

Glad you’re also on banana watch Spidey - I noticed that he usually saves a bit - hope it doesn’t go too brown!

The presentation for last year’s Women’s final was just awful - Naomi had to apologise for winning and she was so upset.

I always find the presentation of the cheque to be super cringeworthy. Why on earth do they do that? So.... grabby and unnecessary.

I missed the hose

Fizzy it was one one of the reasons i was glad she won in Australia. (Although I would have loved Kvitova to win it). She got to experience a win where the crowd weren't booing and it was all just as it should be.

It just makes Wimbledon look so much better , doesn't it- no overly long cringey speeches, national anthems, certainly no speeches from 'sponsors', and no tacky cheque handover.
