Yes, but did the umpire announce the arrival of the new balls? Wink

PrivateSpidey · 13/10/2019 10:58

That was a bit of a let down.

JaneJeffer · 13/10/2019 10:59

Aww

Raahh · 13/10/2019 10:59

I think this could be the end.

Well done Daniil!

He is really on a roll.

Raahh · 13/10/2019 10:59

It was a bit of a let down.

Sascha just couldn't get going.

PrivateSpidey · 13/10/2019 11:00

From Sascha I mean. Great from Medvedev - again! He's a machine. I do like him a lot now though, he's had such a good year. I presume he's made the WTFs???

OP posts:
Raahh · 13/10/2019 11:00

But Sascha must be happy he has got this far, after the year he's had.

Raahh · 13/10/2019 11:02

He's in the 3rd place in the race now, Spidey he overtakes Roger .

And the way he is playing, I'm not betting against him winning it at a first attempt, either.

magimedi · 13/10/2019 11:02

That was quick!

What's the next tournament?

Mind you, I won't see much of it as am off to see PGDs next week.

If Brexit happens (HA!) & I can't get home, wave to me sometimes Grin

PrivateSpidey · 13/10/2019 11:05

Yes I could see him winning in London as well! I can imagine him still be able to battle on at that stage, whereas others might be knackered.

PrivateSpidey · 13/10/2019 11:06

Have a lovely time with the family magi. And hope it's a stress free return home!

Grin Magi

Next week is Moscow and Antwerp (and some others). Medvedev is playing Moscow - might take him a while to get there!

The following week is Vienna/Basel (Daniil is playing Vienna)
Then it is Paris- Rafa is hoping to be back for that.

All in all Daniil must be very fit to then still be standing up and able to play London at the end of all that - but I bet he will be. Grin.

JaneJeffer · 13/10/2019 11:10

Enjoy yourself magi

JaneJeffer · 14/10/2019 18:16

Stef posted a photo with "you wouldn't even notice if I disappeared one day" which is a bit worrying!

Meanwhile Sascha said it was a great week to build on and he's feeling energised for the last leg of the season.

Swings and roundabouts!

Raahh · 14/10/2019 18:21

Bit drama-llama there, from Stef. GrinHe must be feeling a bit fragile. He needs to go and take some brooding photos somewhere and chill a bit.

We would miss him. And his flowing locks. And anyway, he's supposed to be going to London. Chin up, StefGrin.

Yes, Sascha should be very proud of his week- cutting ties with Lendl and finally putting his legal woes behind him, must be a big weight off.

Now he can walk his numerous dogs, and do his washing. Grin

PrivateSpidey · 14/10/2019 22:03
Grin No wonder he's looking so relaxed. Now he can tick some of those tasks off his list!

I don't think anyone is stopping Medvedev though. Until Rafa comes back from his hols/honeymoon that is.

OP posts:
Raahh · 15/10/2019 09:22

I like Medvedev's coach- Daniil described him as 'childish'. He had drawn on his poster in Shanghai. It was on Twitter.

GrinI think it is because they both always look so serious whilst a match is going on, but obviously
have a bit of fun after. Seems to be working for him.

I wonder if Rafa is nervous about his wedding? Do you think he will get everyone to line up water bottles under their seats in the venue? I think he only has these routines when he plays though. He is probably quite laid back off court.

Fizzywinegum · 15/10/2019 09:35

Rafa is probably measuring the gap between the chairs and sorting out the table placements as we speak Grin. I hope we get to see some pictures - especially as my invitation is definitely lost in the post!

Poor Stef - I would also miss him if he wasn’t here. The line up for London is looking pretty good - fingers crossed for no injuries.

Andy Murray is playing in Antwerp but is ready to rush off if Kim goes into labour - exciting!

Raahh · 15/10/2019 09:46

Oh, the bottles on the table will all be placed just so.

I doubt there will be tacky themed favours like at Serena's wedding- remember the replica trophies? They were nice.

I would love to hear Rafa's wedding speech- do you think it will be in Rafa-ishGrin. Probably not, sadly.

My invitation is definitely taking it's time. Grin

JaneJeffer · 15/10/2019 09:57

Rafaish is my favourite language Grin

Fizzywinegum · 15/10/2019 10:02

Rafaish Grin - I didn’t know that Serena had replica trophies at her wedding but I’m not surprised.

I think Rafa’s wedding will be very tasteful (I suspect he’s not had that much to do with the organising of it! Smile)

kazzaD66 · 15/10/2019 10:02

I'm sure the tape measures will be out for the laying of the tables, jus like at state banquets at Buckingham Palace.

And Rafa will begin his speech with "thank you very much...." Grin

Yes, Antwerp is only a three hour train journey back to Chez Murray (unless the French are on strike, of course!)

Does anyone know if Antwerp is on Prime? Apparently, Stockholm isn't.

Fizzywinegum · 15/10/2019 10:10

Hi Kazza - yes it looks as if Antwerp is on Prime.

Can anyone remember when they had the WTFs years ago in Antwerp and the trophy was a gold tennis racquet encrusted with diamonds? I remember Lendl winning it one year.

Raahh · 15/10/2019 10:29

Oh yes, Serena gave her guests mini replicas of her grand slam trophies. Seriously.

I hope Rafa doesn't get confused, and start thanking his sponsors.

I bet they have kept him away from the organising. Probably for the best.
Will he still have a tennis practice on the morning?

I had a work colleague who got married in Italy. She and her soon to be husband (fitness fanatics)went out for a lengthy run on the morning of the wedding.

I was too busy having my hair done, and trying to stop dd1 eating the flowers for that malarky. and I don't do exercise And I didn't get married til 4pm. [grin[.

kazzaD66 · 15/10/2019 11:19

Oh ffs Raahh
Just when you think Serena can't irritate you even more than she already does......

Thanks fizzy
I know I could look for myself but I have to go through Ds's playstation to access Prime, so all a bit of a faff really Wink

And yes, I remember those understated little trophies from Antwerp, back in the day Grin
I think Lendl did win.
