Hallo all. Back from Turkey where we had a wonderful time. Not liking the rain.

But off to France in a couple of weeks to join the family on their recce for a new hoiuse for their move. When they move (early next year?) they will be a 3 hour drive (max) from the French ferry port instead of 9 hours! Great joy.

Haven't kept up with tennis at all but was pleased to see Andy beat Berettini.

One of the music channels changed to playing Christmas music at the stroke of midnight on the 30th and I actually saw a Christmas ad last Sunday.

They always start the Christmas films this early- by the time it gets to Hallowe'en , I'll probably be bored

I know we used to put the Christmas department up in JL when I worked there, as soon as we took down the 'Back to School' display in September...

And when I worked in the record shop, i we would play Christmas albums in August (to see if anyone noticed ).

And, as so many times before, Andy is the last Brit standing. Not sure he'll have much left in the tank though, although at least he's got a day off before Dom. Apparently, he was so knackered after his Norrie match, he had to have a kip before his press conference

He got a bit sweary in his match ,Murray (realyl, how unusual), and was mouthing to his box that he was a bit screwed- except that wasn't what he said . He was probably relieved to win the the 3rd set easily- I think he would have lost the match, had it been closer.

unsurprisingly really, Rafa has withdrawn from Shanghai. I am sad though, as it allows Djok to steam in there. I hope playing Lavr Cup hasn't harmed his year end chances- I really want him to at least be in in London .

Thought I'd see if the China Open is on Amazon Prime and it is (only the men I think and no commentary, which is fine), so watched the last 40 minutes or so of Andy vs Dom. Unfortunately, Andy lost but this week must leapfrog him up the rankings, considering where he currently is. I don't know how much longer he's got his protected ranking for?

Our free trial of Amazon Prime is obviously over but I think we're going to keep it if it means I can see more tennis
Don't know how much it costs a month though because DH and DS set up the trial for me for the US Open
