oh, he did bite it. Grin

kazzaD66 · 22/09/2019 19:48

Nooo!
Amazon stopped working half way through Mac's speech and won't play the live feed anymore!

PrivateSpidey · 22/09/2019 22:25

Argh I missed the speeches Sad

Quite enjoyed I it overall though, although I liked the team interaction/coaching better than the actual tennis...

Ditto to all of that private
And let's hope the grey court doesn't catch on. I don't know if it was that or the (lack of) quality from Amazon Prime but the players looked like some superimposed cartoon characters on a video game Hmm

Fizzywinegum · 23/09/2019 11:27

I enjoyed it more than I thought I would but definitely didn’t like the grey court - it just looked weird.

I loved the Mum and Dad coaching team and how everyone was so up for it. The Team World players looked genuinely gutted when they were all lined up for the presentation after they’d lost.

It’s in Boston next year (US not Lincolnshire!) - I’ve always wanted to go to Boston

PrivateSpidey · 23/09/2019 11:45

Fizzy you'll have to tell his Lordship to find someone to look after the estate so you can go!

Team World did look gutted. I watched a bit of their press conference. All I can say about it is Milos Raonic was lovely: respectful to all the other players and v diplomatic and polite. Something some others could learn from Hmm

kazzaD66 · 23/09/2019 17:52

You mean some players aren't respectful and polite?Shock
Can't think who you mean private Grin

Fizzywinegum · 23/09/2019 18:49

Yes Private - maybe Carson would be able to look after the estate Grin. I can dream!

Yes can’t imagine who you might be talking about!

Raahh · 23/09/2019 19:16

It's Delpo's birthday today- I hope he is celebrating with Cake and Wine. Proper cake, not some gluten vegan taste free or cake free cake like Djok would go for.

Fizzywinegum · 23/09/2019 20:16

Happy birthday Delpo! He looks like the sort of person who would enjoy proper cake and wine Smile

PrivateSpidey · 23/09/2019 21:51

He does. 31, just a whippersnapper in men's tennis these days, right? Plenty of time to win another Slam.

(Just putting that out there into the universe, you know, like the relaxing log fire... Grin)

Very funny post on FB, of Alex de Minaur's instagram- he's wearing what looks like a rabbit hat/scarf with pop up ears. it's very cute.

Can't work out how to link to it.

JaneJeffer · 24/09/2019 18:30

Just seen it Grin he said he's happier with that than winning his match Grin

Raahh · 24/09/2019 18:39

Grin, aww bless him!

I think "a fan" should send a bear version to Stan.

Raahh · 24/09/2019 19:52

oh yes, that would be awesome.

Bear

I saw Murray won today and plays deMinaur next - hope he brings the hat Grin

I noticed Delpo celebrated his birthday with a few beers. Stan would surely approve.

Wimbledon posted a clip of the Rafa-Delpo quarter final from last year - where they both hit those massive forehands and Rafa starts laughing. And Andy Murray in commentary goes "that's ridiculous" Grin

Good times Tennis

Just seen that Murray lost his match against Alex. I hope Alex celebrates with his hat.

I read that Murray, very sensibly, is saying that if things dot go to plan over the next 5 months, he will consider retirement. No point playing if he's not enjoying it , he says, which is very wise.

PrivateSpidey · 26/09/2019 17:19

Yes - the thing is, he's got to give it a decent go first hasn't he, is, a few more months, that makes sense to me too.

I think he's been sensible starting with doubles to test it out - he knows what he doing. He seems v pragmatic about it all. I hope he doesn't have to retire too soon though.

I can't remember whether he was going to play any more challengers or just stick with the main tour. Actually - isn't he playing a masters 1000 soon or have I imagined that?!

Meanwhile, I see Novak is hobnobbing in Lake Como - from potato picking to that, can't complain! Grin

Raahh · 26/09/2019 17:53

Private I'm sure he was down for Shanghai- which I thought was optimistic at the time, but it's all practice I guess, and it's not a bad time to get involved (when everyone else is knackeredGrin)

I saw that the ATP have chickened out of banning Dick- he is on 6 months probation ,that will kick in from when he accepts the conditions- and if he doesn't stick to the terms , he will be banned for 16 weeks. I don't thik it's good enough. And it allows him to play for the next few weeks and maybe do something that could trigger the ban from November- when the season if effectively at an end anyway, apart from for the top 8. The ATP are cowards, and still believe he is the cash cow everyone wants to see.

kazzaD66 · 26/09/2019 19:00

I read that Dick isn't going to play any more this season because of a collar bone injury.

I saw the final set of Andy this afternoon - think we might be continuing with Amazon Prime post the free trial period Wink
He played fairly well but looked knackered at times, although he was on court for well over 2 hours. I think he's got his head screwed on the right way, so what do anything stupid.

Grin
Raahh · 26/09/2019 19:08

Well, that's one way to avoid sanctions- by not playing at all Hmm

Grigor seems to be playing better lately.

PrivateSpidey · 26/09/2019 19:59

Go Grigor!! I saw he was playing Chef Evans - wondered who you'd be supporting kazza Grin

Yes I read about Kyrgios' injury. I agree with you Raahh - the whole "probation" thing seems a bit of a farce Hmm
