I couldn't find a Grand Designs thread for this new series...

Did anyone watch this weeks?!

OP posts:

he has lost practically everything Lost - or chucked it away? No one forced him to make any of the choices he did. He had numerous chances to pull back or pull out but he doubled down each time. It was a massive gamble - and it didn't pay out.

Daysofpearlyspencer · 16/10/2019 19:25

What really pisses me off is that he has left that ruin of a house at a well known beauty spot, I just can't believe he got planning permission. It needs taking down not finishing.

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 16/10/2019 19:39

But what good does it do to direct such abuse at him?

Don't you think he's feeling bad enough already?

KurriKawari · 16/10/2019 19:45

No ones directing abuse at him.

He has selfishly ruined the area for everyone else living there. That's not "abuse", it's a fact.

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 16/10/2019 20:10

That's rather a sweeping statement, and a huge over-exaggeration.

Freaking0ut · 16/10/2019 20:34

Anyone else feeling nervous about what on earth tonight’s episode will have to offer?!!

Rhubarbisevil · 16/10/2019 21:14

🤞

SleepingStandingUp · 16/10/2019 21:57

But what good does it do to direct such abuse at him? I doubt he's in MN. It's a chat board, not the GD website or his personal FB. Nothing is being directed AT him.

He has selfishly ruined the area for everyone else living there

It's a massive unfinished block of concrete in the corner obscuring the Seaview which has little hope of completion and which the couple admitted the locals were unhappy about

Rhubarbisevil · 16/10/2019 22:01

Well, what a lovely, heartwarming episode. The couple were joyous.

Sharlee65 · 16/10/2019 22:06

😅

InMySpareTime · 16/10/2019 22:14

Was that a sex swing?

Freaking0ut · 16/10/2019 22:26

@InMySpareTime husband and just had the same conversation and concluded it 100% was. Got a bit sick of seeing her upside down crotch by the end 🙄

OldAndWornOut · 16/10/2019 22:28
Grin Lovely house though; the colours were beautiful.
Manicpixiedreambitch · 17/10/2019 07:08

We holiday every year just down the coast from the 4 million house. The coastline there is beautiful, but had he even finished the house and then had to sell it I doubt many people would be able to afford to buy it/want to live so remotely. I did feel sorry for him of course, but the blind obsession with the design was painful to watch. To throw away your financial security and your family’s future happiness over a ‘dream house’ is unforgivable.

dogsdinnerlady · 17/10/2019 07:25

What's a sex swing?

InMySpareTime · 17/10/2019 07:48

A swing that supports someone to enable them to get into more sexual positions than they'd manage supporting their own weight.

InMySpareTime · 17/10/2019 08:23

Googled Sex Swing. Wish I hadn't.
There are plenty on Amazon.

dogsdinnerlady · 17/10/2019 15:40

Coo thanks. Christmas is coming!

gingercat02 · 18/10/2019 22:37

They were great. Brilliant to u tube/google research DIY foundations and fixings
Definitely a sex swing. They were a little bit "nudge nudge wink wink" the whole way through

redchocolatebutton · 19/10/2019 08:49

I love the air hangar house.
it's very practical and sensible.
and again clearly set up as a holiday/b&b right from the beginning

WaningGibbous · 20/10/2019 14:22

No curtains and a sex swing. Brilliant Hmm

movingonbackwards · 20/10/2019 14:33

Not sure if anyone actually wants to know! But it's an aerial yoga hammock.. it's really good exercise. Or we can pretend it's a sex swing

PancakeAndKeith · 20/10/2019 14:48

I agree. It’s not a sex swing. There was a big thing of her doing acrobatics and it was clearly a home version of that.

Freaking0ut · 20/10/2019 19:11

@movingonbackwards @PancakeAndKeith
You are the voices of reason but it’s definitely more fun to pretend it’s a sex swing Grin

Whatever it is, I found the bit at the end where she was rolling around in it a bit cringe but horses for courses I guess.

SleepingStandingUp · 21/10/2019 23:29

and again clearly set up as a holiday/b&b right from the beginning I'm not sure how many people want to holiday in the middle of a field in the middle of nowhere in an airfield.

House was great, def best this series and so glad no one ended up in hospital or got divorced!!
