I couldn’t find a thread on this but was excited to find just now that season 7 is now on Netflix 😬

Anyone else watching?

Likethebattle · 28/07/2019 12:22

Watched the full thing yesterday. Best series yet.

ReeReeR · 28/07/2019 12:23

Oooh sounds positive -especially if you watched it all in one day!

Seems strange starting where Piper is out of prison

cheesenpickles · 28/07/2019 12:24

On episode 2 right this second.

CarolDanvers · 28/07/2019 12:26

I've never watched a single episode. Should I?

purplecorkheart · 28/07/2019 12:28

I enjoyed it.

Sparklfairy · 28/07/2019 12:28

I watched the first two last night. The first one was Shock. No spoilers but I'm distraught!!

ReeReeR · 28/07/2019 12:31

Oh @Sparklfairy 🤔

I did wonder whether she’d end up back in prison as I don’t see how the series makes sense if she’s out so in wondering if that’s it but you’re right not to spoil!

It’s one of the best series on Netflix @CarolDanvers, certainly worth giving the first couple of episodes a go to see if you like it

My DH is out all day so I will probably binge watch much of it today if it’s that good

OP posts:
ReeReeR · 28/07/2019 12:59

It feels like so long since I last watched it. I’ve forgotten what’s happened!

There’s a thread slightly down the page here - www.mumsnet.com/Talk/telly_addicts/3647204-OITNB-Series-7-Final-Series

And I’ve just made a spoilers one here - www.mumsnet.com/Talk/telly_addicts/3649880-OITNB-Series-7-Spoilers-For-All-Episodes

ReeReeR · 28/07/2019 13:37

Thanks Captain Hammer. It’s difficult re spoilers when the series is realised all at once as we are all at different places.

Well first episode was really good 😃

Not sure what you were referring to though @Sparklfairy 🤔

OP posts:
mycatisblack · 28/07/2019 13:40

I watched about 6 episodes of the first series but couldn't get into it.
Is it a marmite type programme and just not for me or does it not get better until much later?

ReeReeR · 28/07/2019 13:42

@Mycatisblack I think if you didn’t like it after six episodes then it probably isn’t for you

I’m open to recommendations of anything on Netflix you thought was better!

OP posts:
Sparklfairy · 28/07/2019 14:49

mycatisblack it's a strange one to explain. I liked it from the outset, but made the mistake of introducing my DM to it when I was about 3 seasons in and had forgotten just how much OTT graphic sex there is at the beginning (just for the shock effect imo). Kinda cringe to watch with your mum Grin. It really grew on her though and I've had to wait to watch this new season with her! TBH though if you couldn't get into it after 6 episodes it's probably not worth pursuing.

ReeReeR I CAN'T SAY ANYTHING COS SPOILERS BUT ARGH

ReeReeR · 28/07/2019 14:54

“Daddy”, Maritza, Voss - some good storylines

I think @Likethebattle might be right that this is the best series yet

OP posts:
mycatisblack · 28/07/2019 15:10

@ReeReeR I struggle to find a good series that I can really enjoy.
I'm not very keen on a lot of American style comedy series as it often seems so contrived. I couldn't stand Will & Grace in the 90's and couldn't see why it was so popular. The characters were self absorbed and very unappealing.
I like the Scandi Noir type crime dramas, loved Lilyhammer, The Killing and the original Wallander series. Preferred it to Kenneth Branagh's version.
I've watched most of the Turkish series Ertugrul and really enjoyed that even though I didn't think I would.
Currently enjoying Outlander on Amazon Prime.

Couldn't get into Mad Men either. Confused

I don't watch any reality tv shows as they're a total turn off.

I struggle to find something I can just sit quietly and enjoy of an evening. My all time favourite comedy series was Still Game and I often re-watch old episodes of that if I can't find anything else.

Likethebattle · 28/07/2019 16:32

Massive sad scene near the end..,,aargh spoilers but I did shed a tear.

ReeReeR · 28/07/2019 16:36

@mycatisblack I haven’t seen any of those!

I liked Big Little Lies (season 1 more than 2), love Grey’s Anatomy, loved Game of Thrones, just watched Sharp Objects and that was really good... some of the the other Netflix original series (other than OITNB) are good too

@Likethebattle No prob, I bet I’ll have caught up with you within 24 hours!!

OP posts:
ReeReeR · 30/07/2019 20:33

I’m on the final episode. This series has been one of the best!

OP posts:
MontyBowJangles · 30/07/2019 23:06

I've just watched ep4 and cried! Are we not allowed any spoilers on here? I don't want to go to the actual spoiler thread as am on on ep4/13 Grin

Glad a couple of you think this is one of the better series. I love love loved series 1-3 then it kinda lost its way a bit and I really didn't like the riot series (there was a whole season for the riot wasn't there?!).

Haha to someone watching all the lesbian porn with their Mum Grin

ReeReeR · 30/07/2019 23:23

I suppose you could be a bit vague so not giving specifics away to anyone who doesn’t know what you’re talking about? Maybe include which episode your talking about at the start so people can avoid if they want to. Maybe easiest.

I know what you mean about the spoilers thread. I felt like I couldn’t go there until I finish the series.

OP posts:
overnightangel · 30/07/2019 23:27

Got really into it and then ended up losing interest around mid point of series 4, didn’t realise it was still going let alone up to series 7!

ReeReeR · 30/07/2019 23:32

@overnightangel It did go downhill a bit a few series in but it picked up for the final series
