You can 'just ignore' the speculation about Curtis's sexuality, but personally, I don't think this should be entertainment.

Can anyone make out what MM says as the group breaks apart to give their decision? Something about winning?

Butmaybe - surely it’s natural to speculate/gossip about all aspects of the show and contestants? Isn’t that the point of the thread? Why would this particular subject be out of bounds?

I agree Louise, I'm hoping it's because they're having to hold back from showing content that would give away who leaves...

The reason Curtis' sexuality is being discussed is because of the nature of the programme. No other reason. It would not be relevant in almost any other context, but this is programme about coupling up with a member of the opposite sex in a romantic way. So if he is gay, he is not going to ever be able to 'play the game properly'. That's all.

Yep, it's fine to gossip! I think it can still be done respectfully though (there's been a few things questioned over the course of these threads).

Sexuality is a private thing, that people have suffered greatly due to - there's so much to gossip about without resorting to that!

Seriously, it's a private matter, none of your business how someone identifies - and not your place to start trying to out people... (of the back of a heavily edited, nightly hour of footage for a couple of weeks).

Butmaybe - I think I’ll need to agree to disagree on this one. Everyone’s list of what they think is off bounds to discuss is different so it’s too difficult to limit what people speculate about on here.

I cannot think of any other scenario where I would disagree with you, but the nature of this programme means his sexuality is relevant. Don't you think? I am not gossiping about it, merely pointing out that if he is gay - he can't really participate properly.

The list of things we can no longer talk about on this thread is endless... and we aren't allowed to say we dislike Maura as people think it's slut shaming. We weren't allowed to say we didn't like Yewande without being called racist. Can't talk about anything related to the travelling culture even though this is a huge part of Tommy's life. Can't say Curtis might be gay....

Being camp - doesn't mean you're gay - people have definitely been harmed from speculation like this before.

Not apparently wanting to have sex with certain women, also doesn't mean you're gay.

Maybe he is, maybe he's bi, maybe he's very straight and indecisive - but it's disrespectful to gossip about it based on some stereotypes.

As far as we know, he's 'participating properly' and it's not down to us to decide he's not!

Given Curtis' fame linked family and media savvy awareness, I would expect a plan was discussed and created on how to manage himself on LI for maximum long term success.

To try and hide his gay sexuality would be highly risky, with ex partners making statements and so on, so for that reason alone I reckon not.

Is speculation wrong? probably. But Love Island is so wackily wrong that normal rules go awol.

But if you're offended you can't be misognistic, racially biased, free to speculate on people's private lives etc - maybe you have the issue!

Just seen first look I didn't realise that the islanders were picking that will be Joanna gone then....I think Micheal will go to he is to stubborn to admit he may have been wrong....I don't know if he will walk at the same time though or maybe wait a few days and then go.

In these supposed lighthearted/ breezy threads, people have made some awful comments (& normally made it worse when challenged).

I don't think Curtis is gay at all. He's said his dad was a dancer and so is his brother so he's grown up in the dancing world which is flamboyant and ott. Am watching Aftersun. Amy looks absolutely gorgeous and she seems so nice.

I don't think you have read my comment properly. We all have different opinions. What I'm saying is some people will find an excuse to be offended about everything. For example, I didn't like Yewande as I thought she had a bad attitude, yet was accused of being racist

Oooohbetty - it’s not his flamboyance or the fact that he’s a dancer that makes me think he is. You’re supposed to go on love Island for love and he’s had so many chances now but doesn’t seem to have any real interest in anyone. He almost seems to be avoiding getting too close to anyone.

According to an interview with his mother he's has only had one partner/girlfriend and that was his dancing partner.

I'm in the minority here but I didn't warm to Amy on Aftersun last night. She still seems very unhappy.
