Only four seasons and i much prefer it to Modern Family. If only it had been on more main stream channels. I loved all the actors and quite fancied the grandpa.

Oh no I love life in pieces. Hadn't heard it's been cancelled.

I quite fancy all the blokes tbh, maybe not Tim

notmuchmoretogive · 11/07/2019 17:32

Gutted

EachandEveryone · 11/07/2019 18:06

Have you seen the new season? I think that was the last episode Sad

Contraceptionismyfriend · 11/07/2019 18:33

Oh No! I love it. It has loads of life in it.

EachandEveryone · 11/07/2019 19:21

chng.it/cxX5WjdNxn its because no one picked it up

Hopefully Netflix will pick it up. Think that's what happened to Designated Survivor, but that did change somewhat.
Why does crap like GOT and How I met your Mother run forever but gems like Life in Pieces get dropped?
There are so many great TV programmes that have died off because they are classed as niche.
But then I cannot for the life of me understand how shite soaps such as Coronation Street keep going.
Some folk have no taste.

Another life in pieces fan here. One of the few shows that makes me laugh at loud. I have discovered that it repays a second viewing, and hope it will take a couple more. Love the casting, love the scripts, don't understand why it has been dropped.

Sad
BastilleKillers15 · 11/07/2019 23:01

I love that show, it's getting dropped?! I thought it was a mid season break and then they show the rest of the episodes!

I can understand Modern Family finishing but gutted about Life in Pieces!

I thought it was slow coming to us. Great cast. I will miss Tim so much.

That's a shame.
I was sad that Speechless was not renewed but at least it had come to a natural juncture with JJ off to college.
I was sad about The Middle and Modern Family but both had good runs. I still thought Life in Pieces had legs.
On top of that, I am on episode 10 atm - three still to air according to wiki. Is that where you all are?
But 13 episodes is a weird number with no sense of closure...was it only recommissioned on a temporary basis then not a full run or was being filmed weekly while on transmission and they have just cancelled it at Short (pardon the pun!) notice?

youngestisapsycho · 12/07/2019 12:07

Oh No... I only discovered this a month or so ago and have watched them all!

MadisonAvenue · 12/07/2019 12:11

I’m gutted that this has been cancelled, we watched episode 13 last week. I’ve still not got over The Middle finishing and I’m going to miss Big Bang Theory too.

MadisonAvenue · 12/07/2019 12:13

Re the number of episodes. It is strange. The previous seasons had 22.

I’m sad about Speechless too.

SavageBeauty73 · 12/07/2019 12:14

I'm so gutted!!!! I want to be Jen when I grow up.

Winterfellismyhome · 12/07/2019 12:15

Oh no! I love Jen

AnyFucker · 12/07/2019 12:16

.

EachandEveryone · 12/07/2019 13:05

It was the same with Brothers and Sisters it just stopped.

OP posts:
notmuchmoretogive · 12/07/2019 17:45

@EachandEveryone I loved brothers and sisters too. We seem to have similar tastes, got any recommendations?!

BastilleKillers15 · 12/07/2019 21:20

@EachandEveryone and @notmuchmoretogive same I loved that show, but I hate to say it as it was meant to be a dramatic scene but when Rob Lowe's character spewed up some sort of yellow bile in the car park, I couldn't keep a straight face. Would be awesome if they all reunited! Smile

jessicawessica · 12/07/2019 22:27

Brothers and Sisters was great.
Something very similar was Parenthood. All centred around famiy, siblings, etc. This series didn't just fall off a cliff edge, it actually seemed to com to a natural end that made sense.
I've just finished Under The Dome. That was cancelled after season 3 with a whole new cliffhanger waiting to be explained. They obviously expected to make a season 4 but it was dropped.
I hate it when this happens. It's like watching half a film.

EachandEveryone · 12/07/2019 22:37

The other one I loved was Parenthood, i picked it up cheap on ebay the other week. Its fab.

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 13/07/2019 05:47

Togetherness (2 seasons hbo) was good (more dramedy than comedy, still) and was cancelled despite a set up for season 3, but was still semi-wrapped up regardless.

Apparently only 13 episodes this time around were ordered. Earlier in the year it won its ratings slot and cbs tweeted as much whereby Colin Hanks then turned round and basically tweeted: 'that would be good news I guess if you hadn't cancelled the show'

I loved Lucifer and Brooklyn 99 but have not seen a Save Life in Pieces hashtag anywhere.

SnugglySnerd · 13/07/2019 05:51

No! I love Life in Pieces. Superb cast.

yulet · 13/07/2019 06:03

Oh no! That's rubbish! One of the few shows I've really enjoyed lately. Sad

EachandEveryone · 14/07/2019 18:31

It’s just so wrong!

Another good one is Better Things on the iplayer. It’s very different but if you have the same taste in tv as me it’s very good.
