No but she could glam it up drag-style if she chose to - she has big boobs and knows camp, is an LGBT ally, friends with RuPaul for years and is a judge on his drag comp show.
Has been married for a long time, has 2 kids, no fucks to give about any curse, can be quite acerbic/bitchy - I didn't see much of her on Celeb big brother as it had Katie bloody Hopkins on it - so I don't know who the 'real' Michelle is and how much is a persona but they'll be hopeful for soundbites and publicity for Drag Race UK which runs in the Autumn.

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 05/08/2019 16:55

a drag artist? that'd be fun I agree. It's also why I have Tom Neuwirth (Conchita Wurst) on my list - he does both Conchita (female presenting) and Wurst (male presenting) and I would adore him to be teamed with Katya where he swaps personas each week (it would be interesting which dances he would choose for each side of himself/each persona. Whether for example Wurst would do a mean tango and Conchita would do a fab paso). His English is fine too so no language difficulty. He is touring in Autumn and I am very sad as I am coming back to the UK just at the time I could have seen him sing in Germany.

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 05/08/2019 16:56

He also has a new album out - Stefania sleb booker missed a trick there.

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 05/08/2019 17:02

For anyone who is also a fan, there are two moves in these routines I adore...the flip over aided hand springy thing in the freestyle when the lyrics go I'm going to fly (2.40) and the see to believe quick change dress spin in the skating (1.40)

SchadenfreudePersonified · 05/08/2019 18:04

Or a Nolan.

Not a Nolan.

For the love of God - NOT A NOLAN!

I nearly put my foot through the telly ranting at Sneannnnnn Walsh . .

. . . that bastard . . .

covetingthepreciousthings · 05/08/2019 18:23

I also have to remind myself that a lot of the people they might approach just actually don't want to do it! Or the beeb can't afford their fee*

I would LOVE to see the lists of celebs that are approached, do we have an insider here? It would be interesting to see what percentage of people turn it down.

This lot are going to have to work even harder than usual to make me love them and their dancing. But I'm sure I'll cope!

FuzzyPuffling · 05/08/2019 18:33

I agree coveting I wonder who said no.
I recall Faye last year saying she pestered them to let her do it.

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 05/08/2019 18:47

I obviously do not know who has specifically said No this year but here who has said they said no to doing it when approached...
Nadija Hussain
Piers Morgan
Maya Yama
Patrick Stewart
Mel Giedroyc
Barbara Windsor (2004)
Alan Titchmarsh

(digital spy)

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 05/08/2019 18:56

Other people who reputedly said no in the past:
Jamie Redknapp
Martine McCutcheon
Tilly Keeper
Claude Littner
Nick Hewer
Rula Lenska
Diane Parish
Lacey Turner
Angela Scanlon
Greg James
Bradley Wiggins
Levi Roots
Clara Amfo
Roy Hodgson
Gyles Brandreth (liked him on sleb gogglebox)
Mans Zelmerlow
Martin Kemp

(tabloids)

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 05/08/2019 18:59

Have heard the Martin Kemp quote before. Such a shame, I would vote for that man every week without fail.
''They ask me a lot but I think they've got so used to me saying "no" they've not asked me. I can't dance. There are some things I have to admit I can't do.''

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 05/08/2019 19:04

Just asked DP if he recognizes names from the current 11 - he only knows David James bless.
(Put Nadine Coyle from Girls Aloud on it and he'd perk up and show a renewed interest in the show!)

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 05/08/2019 19:14

Others who said no:
Fiona Bruce
Karren Brady
Alison King
Mel C
Noel Edmonds
Rochelle Humes
Kate Humble

(telly mix)

Can you tell I am procrastinating wildly?

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 05/08/2019 19:18

aw Chris Kamara says he is not fit enough, bless him.
Huw Edwards was asked this year.

(hello magazine)

Okay, I'm off to drink Brew and stuff myself with Cake x

Disfordarkchocolate · 05/08/2019 19:22

I'd love Mel C to do it, my favourite Spice Girl.

Theromanempire · 05/08/2019 20:13

I say it constantly...Martin Kemp would be my dream contestant! He doesn't need to be able to dance Wink

Theromanempire · 05/08/2019 20:14

I was honestly hoping for husband, wife, son combo of the Kemps. Guess that isn't going to happen Sad

CocoLoco87 · 05/08/2019 20:20

I can't believe Martine McCutcheon would say no to strictly Shock seems like it would be right up her street

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 05/08/2019 20:45

Perhaps they're going to surprise us with a wild card. Mike Tindall.

GrouchyKiwi · 05/08/2019 21:09

~googles Martin Kemp~

GrouchyKiwi · 05/08/2019 21:10

Oh, the Spandau Ballet chap. I saw him on The Great British Menu.

GrouchyKiwi · 05/08/2019 21:11

I was getting him confused with the "Judge John Deed" Martin.

covetingthepreciousthings · 05/08/2019 21:17

Mans Zelmerlow

He'd be a great contestant
