I just can't see how this series is going to pick up.

I agree, it's becoming extremely tedious, a bit like this thread in places.

Curtis has changed totally from when he first came in. I think he shot himself in the foot choosing Amy, not realising how full on she would be and thinking she would be all bubbly and fun. Cannot stand his 'young lady' catchphrase, reminds me of something a very strict head teacher would say when you've been pulled in for some cardinal sin or other.

I've actually enjoyed this series. And the viewing figures show it's a huge hit.

I don't understand why anyone would watch it, and also come on line to discuss it if they find it tedious. If I find something tedious. I don't watch it and certainly don't engage in threads discussing the characters

Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying it! I'm just not sure how they're going to keep people interested for another three weeks with only one strong couple. There's almost no competition, they really need to shake things up but being over halfway through it's quite hard to do that. It's starting to run flat as there's just not much relationship potential between the current islanders.

I just feel like first look always hypes it up sooooo much and then I watch and I'm always a little disappointed. I'm still watching but this series and last haven't been great overall

I've enjoyed this series much more than last year which I gave up on early on and watched the Aus version which was ace.

The newbies look like good news for Curtis and Maura.

I'm not sure anyone watches it for th strong couples though, that's a bit dull. People watch it for th drama and pure cringeworthyness of it. Which always comes from thr non strong couples. They are the ones that folks talk about and where the drama is.

Yay, newbies! I mean they could do with a load more but hey ho, I have hopes for the boxer and Maura as her and Curtis give me the icks! Assuming he’s actually interesting/has some degree of personality 🙏
Can’t they just cull some of the dead weight eg Marvin? He’s so chinless and uninteresting, it just feels like a waste of a space. Maura should have left him in Casa Amor!

I feel like they are just getting more of the same Casa Amor type guys - six pack but no personality totally bland boring bleurgh. Maura has more than shown willing... maybe this will push her and Curtis together? It says something that that is actually preferable rn - argh!
