Iโ€™ve just finished this epic episode and am panicking cause I canโ€™t find the new thread! If there is one Iโ€™ll just delete this one!

Wrongdissection I'm a Geordie and I have no sympathy for Amber at all! I think she's vile, cocky and nasty (same with Anna)

Michael does have very tiny ears though ๐Ÿ˜‚ but I still love him

ILoveYou3000 · 03/07/2019 07:37

Jourdan did look like she was enjoying the drama. Maybe she was. At this point it's sheer entertainment for her, she has no bonds or loyalties in there.

The only thing Michael did wrong was all the slagging off of Amber to Joanna, but chances are that's all we've been shown, not all they actually spoke about.

The whole Curtis saga, I really don't get. I think tonight Amy will verbally kick his arse and he'll turn himself into the victim. He'll then be all contrite and start grovelling, handing her platitudes and cliches left, right and centre.

Anna is awful. She is the most immature in there and fuels Amber. I think all she really cares about is Michael has now put her "best mate" at risk which means something is taken away from Anna. She's not actually bothered about Amber being upset by this, just what this might mean for her, Anna.

carmenbea · 03/07/2019 07:39

Jourdan was sitting there smirking at some of the scenarios she looked quite bitchy. I think Curtis will tell Amy there was someone else but not who and then she will tell her!
I have a feeling Michael might regret his decision, as all he seemed to speak about with Joanna was Amber. The other girls are going to go in on her as she knew he was "taken" to an extent.
I felt sorry for Jordan he is so sweet.

vjg13 · 03/07/2019 07:41

Tommy looked a bit upset and emotional when Lucie came back coupled up. I think the poster who said that Curtis had a strategy to pick a girl who had no interest in him and then use it as a sounding point to express doubts about Amy was spot on.

ProteinshakesandAntonsAss · 03/07/2019 07:45

I dont think Tommy did look emotional.

To be fair with editing. That might not have been even what was going. He could have been looking at an empty space or Maura and her fella. Or anything.

It's not hard to take a clip of someones facial expressions then edit it in so it looks like he was looking emotional when Lucie came back.

Bellendejour · 03/07/2019 08:02

Iโ€™ll have to watch it back but Tommyโ€™s reaction to Lucie was weird. PPs saying it was because Maura had also come back with a guy - she was single so no shocks there, she wasnโ€™t dumping anyone. Unless he was shocked by what an utter dweeb Marvin is Grin
I donโ€™t ship Lucie and Tommy at all, I thought she was stupid to lay it on the line with him when heโ€™d already said they were just friends. It was just a weird reaction to her coming in with the Rocky 4 guy.

ChihuahuaMummy1 · 03/07/2019 08:02

Just caught up from last night and tommy and mm were unbelievably cute! Felt sorry for Jordan and actually Amber

Bellendejour · 03/07/2019 08:03

But will try to see if itโ€™s just clever editing!

MoominMantra · 03/07/2019 08:04

Yeah, I've come to the conclusion that Anna is the ringleader of the mean girl bullying behaviour. If she'd never gone on Love Island then maybe Amber and Yewande would have come across nicer. She stirs people up.

Wrongdissection · 03/07/2019 08:24

@MrsScamander I just canโ€™t help it, the facial expressions etc just remind me of my (much younger) DD and I canโ€™t help but feel sorry for her. I know she hasnโ€™t behaved well but I just feel weirdly protective over her. Especially last night as she was getting ready, with no make up etc on she looked so young.

Anyway. Bring on tonight!

Love Island makes me so tired. Iโ€™m normally asleep between 9 and 10 and for 4 weeks now Iโ€™ve been up well after that!!

BenWillbondsPants · 03/07/2019 08:30

I've just re-watched the recoupling again. Anna's 'little girl' response to Jordan choosing to stay coupled with her was pathetic. She's a grown woman and it was embarrassing to watch.

fraxion · 03/07/2019 08:36

It's not hard to take a clip of someones facial expressions then edit it in so it looks like he was looking emotional when Lucie came back.

Yes, it was definitely editing, you can tell how much he likes MM.

brainfrying · 03/07/2019 08:41

After all the press Love Island received this year calling for it to be scrapped and concerns for the star's mental health I am really shocked that Amy was selected for the show. She just seems so fragile. She is 26 but has never had a relationship and seems so desparate, even from day 1 with Anton.

She is not conventionally beautiful so has received a lot of comments on her appearance. I worry how she will cope with all of this on the outside and I don't think she should have been selected for the show. I hope they give her a lot of support afterwards. It's really cruel what Curtis is doing as he clearly has no interest in her.

MynameisJune · 03/07/2019 08:44

@BenWillbondsPants I agree. Anna is 28 she should be able to own her decisions and be an adult. I was cringing at that point.

AliceRR · 03/07/2019 08:44

I thought Jourdan looked like she was smirking and loving the drama but then maybe sheโ€™s been watching on the outside like us and found herself in there for a very dramatic recoupling

Agree that Anna is awful. Sheโ€™s bitchy, hypocritical and came out like a silly little girl with her new guy. Jordan can do better.

I think Tommy really likes MM and was worried sheโ€™d recouple so when Maura and Lucie came in with new guys maybe he was thinking MM would too

Still canโ€™t work out wtaf Curtis is doing

One thing Iโ€™ve noticed on these threads is that we put so much expectation on their behaviour, in particular the girls. I myself have been guilty of this. I donโ€™t think itโ€™s fair to say โ€œxโ€ is bad & deserves what they get. I felt really sorry for Amy & Amber last night. Everybody has good points & bad points & Iโ€™ve never met anyone in real life who reacts in the right way to every single situation, challenge, etc. And thatโ€™s in the real world, not a artificial game show!

carmenbea · 03/07/2019 08:46

I have no clue what Curtis game plan is anymore Confused or whether this is the producers way of making people like Amy

Summersunshine2 · 03/07/2019 08:53

The girls faces last night were tv gold!
I don't think the producers are telling Curtis what to do so people like Amy. There's no way Curtis would let his own career/public persona be damaged for someone else.
These people are young and haven't got a clue sometimes. Come on .... we've all been there.

AliceRR · 03/07/2019 08:56

Curtis is supposed to be the one with his head screwed on a bit, or at least thatโ€™s how he sees himself. Heโ€™s the one who gives advice to everyone. Thatโ€™s why itโ€™s so strange that heโ€™s behaving like this.

OP posts:
LittleAndOften · 03/07/2019 09:06

Could it just be that Curtis has itchy feet? He's younger than Amy and has found himself fast-tracked into the smug-married stage of a relationship. Maybe has realised he doesn't actually want that?

MoominMantra · 03/07/2019 09:10

No I agree @fancynancyclancy I don't like what I've seen of Amber and Amy but I felt really bad for both of them, especially Amy. She looked so expectant and anxious walking back over - it was awful. Nobody deserves to have their feelings publicly crushed

however I do think that maybe Love Island should pay closer attention to their screening process. There is no doubt that it's not for the easily offended . Anyone with any insecurity issues is not a good candidate for the show. I think that in previous years the contestants have dealt with being dumped a lot better.

Evianne529 · 03/07/2019 09:17

I agree, it's been clear for a while that Curtis didn't really fancy Amy- eg when she asked him if they'd work on the outside he clearly squirmed.

What I can't get my head around is why did he select Jourdan as his target when she was clearly getting with Danny (and had already shared a bed with Jordan)?

When he sat on the bean bag and told Jourdan he was stuck between choosing her or Amy he literally didn't even ask if she actually liked him back! (I thought Jourdan was very diplomatic at that moment, suggesting he focus on his 'issue' and let him down gently).

Was this sheer arrogance on the part of Curtis, ie just thinking there's no way Jourdan would ever turn him down? Or, as others have said, did he go for a random girl for the drama? He could have gone for that Maria who said she fancied him, for example. All very odd.

As an aside, although I was impressed by Jourdan's diplomacy at letting Curtis down gently, I went on to seethe at her smug faces during the recoupling Angry and especially at poor Amy. I really want her to stay away from Amy and not rub salt into the wound.

StreetwiseHercules · 03/07/2019 09:25

Michael is annoyed because he sees the truth in the whipped tweet. He was basically putting up with Amber being a complete arsehole for the sake of a quiet live and to avoid hassle.

The way Amber interacts with people, and men in particular, is not normal.

ILoveYou3000 · 03/07/2019 09:26

Maybe Curtis chose Jourdan because he knew she liked Danny, so he could safely have his crisis of confidence over Amy without actually having to make such a final decision in recoupling with someone else.

SlimGin · 03/07/2019 09:29

I thought Jourdan was articulate and kind when letting Curtis down, I hope her facial expressions during the recoupling were purely awkwardness/shock.
Awful awful to watch Amy walk in after the speech Curtis gave in front of everyone. I wonder if she'll stay with him after that? I wouldn't be able to.
