Iโ€™ve just finished this epic episode and am panicking cause I canโ€™t find the new thread! If there is one Iโ€™ll just delete this one!

I actually think curtis is quite narcissistic.

fancynancyclancy · 03/07/2019 17:56

Oh & Bella & Anton are so fake.

SweetMelodies · 03/07/2019 17:57

Elma said โ€˜Iโ€™m 26 but I tell everyone Iโ€™m 23โ€™ on her date so wasnโ€™t dishonest on the actual show.

I saw an article where she said she had wanted to go in as a โ€˜23-year-oldโ€™ because she lies about her age all the time in RL. However it was against the show rules to do that. So I think Amy must be 26, she just looks older. Remember Laura last year? Didnโ€™t her birth certificate get put online or something because her family were sick of people accusing her of being older.

(On a side note I do find it weird that a 26-year-old would feel the need to tell people theyโ€™re younger)

obsessedwithLI · 03/07/2019 18:01

Amy is almost 27 she was in the year above me in school her birthday must be in the next couple of months

SweetMelodies · 03/07/2019 18:07

@Darksideofthemoon I wouldnโ€™t be surprised actually

augustusglupe · 03/07/2019 18:10

Darkside Agree, loves the sound of his own voice doesnโ€™t he!? Hmm And someone on here said itโ€™s like heโ€™s acting all the time. Itโ€™s like heโ€™s playing the part of a charming, agreeable bloke when in reality heโ€™s just the opposite.
I donโ€™t think he really expects Amy to properly stick up for herself and bin him, god I hope she does!!

Darksideofthemoon19 · 03/07/2019 18:21

You could see the anger in his face when Jourdan turned him down. He had to proper bite his tongue.

Yamayo · 03/07/2019 18:21

I hope she does something. Problem with her is that she always looks sullen and comes across as passive aggressive.

She's supposed to be in love for the first time but I've never seen her gushing and happy with Curtis. All she does is go on about how great he is.
Her talk doesn't match her actions/demeanor.

Alloftit · 03/07/2019 18:23

Just watched first look. What the fuck is Anna so involved for?! Sheโ€™s the one stirring it, Michael and amber speaking separately wouldnโ€™t have got nearly so heated I wouldnโ€™t think. Ouch for Amy. Painful to watch, but hey, heโ€™s been fake as fake from the word go:
Still not buying MM and Tommy. They know what to do to win.

Iโ€™ve been having a think too, regarding the recoupling whys and wherefores. I was judging Michael for slagging off amber but in fairness, the signs were there. Nothing he said about her was news to anyone, and you tend to โ€˜blameโ€™ the other person when you break up irl, for whatever reason you didnโ€™t see it working and thatโ€™s fine, so itโ€™s odd that I seem to have been seeing it so differently in LI.

itswinetime · 03/07/2019 18:29

You could see the anger in his face when Jourdan turned him down. He had to proper bite his tongue.

There was that and then the look on his face when he was telling tommy he got pied! Even during the recoupling that wasn't the face of someone upset about having hurt someone else's feelings that was someone pissed off!

AliasGrape · 03/07/2019 19:00

Checking in for tonight

Bluntness100 · 03/07/2019 19:01

I honestly can't get my head round the Curtis thing, he clearly thought irrelevant of what she had with Danny, she'd jump at the chance to be with him. He must have thought he is really popular and Amy was thr problem. And any girl would jump at the chance to be with him. It's such odd, narcissitic behaviour, I'm struggling tounderstand it,

I also can't understand amy, she's just as odd. Who the hell declares rhey are in love and had met their life partner like that. They hadn't even decided to be girlfriend boyfriend yet.

Honestly, the pair of them are just plain weird.

Nextphonewontbesamsung · 03/07/2019 19:12

The focus has very much been on Curtis the last few days, ie. he has had by far the most airtime.

I think he desperately doesn't want to be seen as the villain (hence all the heartfelt speeches and conversations with his buddies, he is vocalising what he thinks the public want to hear) but at the same time he doesn't want to be in one of the less popular couples. I am sure it was a shock to them both that they weren't safe in the last public vote.

I think he made overtures to Jourdan knowing full well that she wasn't interested in him and that she was going for Danny. How could he not know that? But, by "demonstrating" that he had his head turned, but stayed loyal to Amy after all - he could be seen as a good guy with solid morals. So extra brownie points for him in his mind.

There were another 3 or 4 girls he could have gone for if he really just wanted to uncouple from Amy. I think he wanted to play the part of someone who was torn but chose the honourable path in the end - hoping that would revive his popularity.

I don't think it will have worked though as most people I know seem to be thinking wtf Curtis? No one I know in real life has the level of vitriol and spite that seems to be prevalent towards Amy both on these threads and in other social media. God knows what that girl has done wrong other than being a bit inexperienced.

itswinetime · 03/07/2019 19:14

I think it was the tweets! I can't remember exactly what they had but the three I remember about Curtis and Amy was 1) they had no sexual chemistry 2) something about Amy making Curtis apologies when he hadn't done anything wrong and 3) something like Curtis is the perfect man tommy is sweet and Micheal hot (I can't remember the other 2 guys named). Then 2 days later they are at the bottom of a public vote, and the voila Curtis isn't sure he fancies her and there is something missing his had has been turned but it's not by a girl it's by the public!!!

findmeatyoga · 03/07/2019 19:18

Michael's reasons for recoupling did include Joanna - he said he's the Michael he was on day one, she's beautiful, etc. So he didn't just slam amber. Amber is a nasty piece of work, she gives this look like she wants people dead and I just watched the episode where yewande went where they goad Danny and amber call's Arabella a 'nob' within earshot and then an 'idiot' when she's in the bedroom. Disgusting behaviour and I'm glad Michael dumped her, I hope she leaves soon. Just hope Michael doesn't come off too badly tonight - he's not really taken Curtis's advice (but who would) about acting his age!

MoominMantra · 03/07/2019 19:20

I think Amy is really pretty - that Bette Davis comment was so mean. What makes her unattractive is the way every time the camera was on her she seemed to be curling her lip up and the mean spirited comments.

findmeatyoga · 03/07/2019 19:20

Oh and also in that episode Arabella says "you do realise we are all going to get tested in here - you will get tested" and Amber snarls back "yes thank you I know what I signed up for, I didn't know until you said, nob". I don't see how anyone thinks that is excusable.

AliasGrape · 03/07/2019 19:25

I was thinking how itโ€™s odd Anna has gone on about needing an older guy and in part chose not to stick with Jordan because heโ€™s young, when heโ€™s actually shown more maturity than weโ€™ve seen from her in the whole series.

Just watching the recoupling again as Iโ€™m
at my friends and sheโ€™d not seen it, itโ€™s still painful to watch.

carmenbea · 03/07/2019 19:28

I love Jordan and I think Anna will regret her decision. Ovie is gorgeous but I can see him going for Jourdan or Joanna as to be brutally honest he is out of Anna's league. Jordan is my favourite boy.

ProteinshakesandAntonsAss · 03/07/2019 19:39

I think he wanted to play the part of someone who was torn but chose the honourable path in the end - hoping that would revive his popularity.

He messed that up when he said there was no attraction. Theres no coming back from that.

I dont like Amy. Because of her behaviour at the beginning. I also think she is quite needy and I dont like that quality in friends or partners.

I actually think she is quite vulnerable which is why Curtis has found her easy to play. However, I think she makes herself feel better by being a bit bitchy to other people.

I also dont like smug marrieds, which both her and Curtis definitely were.

However, I dont like the death threats or the constant comments about how she looks. She isnt the most stunning. But she isnt baby Jane either.

In my head I imagine, over baring parents that encouraged a life based around her looks and how much of a princess she was. She won pageants, had surgery made herself more aesthetic and still didnt find prince charming and her happy ever after and that's knocked her self esteem further.

Again, if she has never had a boyfriend or always second best, either theres something she is doing (I believe it's probably being too full on, too soon) or she is vulnerable and picks dodgy guys (like Curtis) again and again.

fancynancyclancy · 03/07/2019 19:40

I like Jordan but wouldnโ€™t he gave recoupled if Jourdain wasnโ€™t interested?

fancynancyclancy · 03/07/2019 19:40

have not gave
was not wasnโ€™t

๐Ÿ˜’

Theknacktoflying · 03/07/2019 19:42

The thing I find so โ€˜cattle marketโ€™ about it is the fact that the pickee just stands there like a lost fart and sees the established couples argue and insult one another.

A great twist would be that the pickee then has the choice to accept the coupling or remain in the villa as a single ...

Why should Danny still be hung up about Arrabella - surely the dame should be said of Lucie

StreetwiseHercules · 03/07/2019 19:46

Itโ€™s Love Island, not Loyalty Island. People can change partners whenever they like. Hard to see what people donโ€™t get about that.

Nextphonewontbesamsung · 03/07/2019 19:47

Ovie comes across as being spectacularly uninteresting, I'm afraid.
