I wonder who'll be unlucky in 'love'?

OP posts:

Twitter annoys me. They're all still so anti-Danny. I really can't see what he's done wrong.

Michael has been a hypocrite. He told Danny he had made a 'dickhead move' and yet what he has done to Amber is much worse because he's slagged her off to the new girl several times. I'm not bothered though because Amber deserves it. People are apparently struggling now as to whether they want Michael or Danny out next.

I wish people wouldn't go OTT with their hate, because surely it puts people off recoupling in future shows, meaning less drama for us!

areyoubeingserviced · 01/07/2019 23:45

I have just finished watching the show.
Amber has her faults, but Michael is just being an ass. I actually don’t think that he’s really into Joanna, she just flatters him and makes him feel good. He spends too much time talking about Amber . If I was Joanna I wouldn’t be happy.
Curtis is struggling with his sexuality. I think that he is gay. He is not attracted to any of the women.
I feel sorry for Jordan, he is actually quite a chilled , decent guy.
Ana is just desperate. Let Ovie graft a bit, fgs
I see that Danny has forgotten about Arabella. Jourdan can do better than Danny.
I am really concerned about Amy’s mental health.,She looks so fragile

ffaith · 01/07/2019 23:49

For 2 pple that nobody else fancies Curtis and Amy get an awful lot of airtime. They even ended the episode on a Curtis 'cliffhanger'. Curtis is clearly following some kind of script but the scriptwriters have been let down by the fact that none of the girls fancy him.

SweetMelodies · 01/07/2019 23:55

@Eaudear I think it was Grace? It was a bit random, especially since they weren’t really shown much together in Casa amour then he suddenly changed his mind to bring her back despite the fact they had nothing in common and no connection.

riotlady · 02/07/2019 00:28

For someone who people think has been playing a game, Curtis has played this REALLY badly.

If he wanted rid of Amy because she’s unpopular, the sensible thing to do would be to pick one girl (Maria makes sense has she said she liked him and he’s got no competition) and act like she’s so magical and special that she’s dragged him away from Amy even though up until now his feelings for Amy have been genuine.

Instead he mentioned last night he had his eye on two girls (Joanna and Jourdan) which makes it clear he’s just a bit sick of Amy and anyone will do, and now he’s going on about his doubts. So he’s forever ruined it with Amy without having a backup in place, and he looks like a bit of a dickhead.

riotlady · 02/07/2019 00:30

@SweetMelodies I remember Grace, she was the hairdresser. Wasn’t she also the one who told him she wasn’t close with her family and then they were in the paper like “ummm, we see each other all the time, we thought we were really close”

SlipperOrchid · 02/07/2019 01:14

Areyoubeingserved Agree with most of what you wrote. I think Amber is very mean though. I am sure they will keep her in so we can see her storm around bitching about Michael. I'm tired of her negativity so would be pleased to see her go tbh.
I like Jordan. He seems really straightforward although I very much doubt he likes Anna for any other reason than to stay in. Anna is sure to pick Ovie (I am the only person in the world to not find him beautiful to look at). He seems a bit 'slow' when talking too. I'm not a fan of Anna either.
I don't think Curtis will pick anyone else. Apart from there being nobody else who wants him, I think we will see him have some intense conversations with Amy before declaring how he is no longer conflicted and begs her for forgivemess (for having doubts) and probably proposes on tv for more airtime :). (to be his full girlfriend of course). Despite looking anxious tonight, underneath everything Amy won't have thought he would ever look at someone else so even hearing that he 'did wonder', will be enough to drive her scatty and be even bitchier to any new girls who arrive in.
Tbh I wouldn't be surprised if Michael sticks with Amber too. Putting on his glasses and talking incessantly about Amber isn't really giving Joanna strong vibes that he is into her.
The only one I really feel sorry for is Maura. She isn't interested in any of the six new boys. She was crazy about Tommy but the new guys aren't doing anything for her. Tonight you could almost see her face glaze over when she was talking to them. She isn't buying into their spiel at all. Understandable when Tom was horrible to and about her only two days ago! And of course I already feel sorry for any new girls that go into the new villa because the old ones (Amber, Amy, Anna) are sure to gang up on them and create the usual frosty atmosphere together with bitchy comments.

SharedBluePlanet · 02/07/2019 04:23

They are all definitely told to continue to make it ambiguous as to who they will choose to couple up with - to add to the air of drama and uncertainty.

Michael has clearly chosen Joanna I think and Anna has chosen Ovie but they have to pretend they are not yet sure.

Curtis knows I think he will recouple with Amy - as it is his only option. He has got the ick though. He was definitely shocked not to be in the top three couples and has figured out Amy is unpopular. I think he will recouple but then ditch her after the immediate risk of being dumped from the island passes.

SharedBluePlanet · 02/07/2019 04:33

I think the worst thing about the whipped tweet for Michael was the fact it delighted Amber - she glowed when she heard it and he knows that.

It is quite unpleasant to be thrilled that people think you have your partner whipped. Can you imagine if the genders were reversed?

SharedBluePlanet · 02/07/2019 04:39

Maybe Curtis sudden confusion is leading up to a dramatic 'coming out of the closet' moment

That would be a love island first

AmericasAss · 02/07/2019 05:07

If curtis wasnt having this crisis, he knows he wouldnt be getting an air time apart from the odd bit where he says he misses her.

He doubts are giving him loads more airtime, of saying the same thing over and over. I dont think there is any coming back from him saying, last night, there was a lack of attraction. During that converstation with Micheal, he didnt seem to like Amy very much at all.

I dont think he will dump Amy. I think we will see him see her and then realise she is everything he is looking for. It's a blatant attempt to draw people back into thinking how amazing they are as a couple.

He knows they arent popular and is trying to change that.

WithAllIntenseAndPurposes · 02/07/2019 06:32

OMG shared I've been thinking that too!

Dickybow321 · 02/07/2019 06:38

Yeah, how do you come back from your partner saying there is no physical attraction there?😬

MoominMantra · 02/07/2019 06:52

Even if he stays with Amy, she's going to find out what he said when she gets out. And it's on her mind as well, when she says 'does he actually fancy me though?'

AmericasAss · 02/07/2019 06:55

I am not so sure she will find out in there though.

As much as I dislike Amy, I woildnt want to watch her get hurt and humiliated on TV.

timeandtimeagain42 · 02/07/2019 07:30

Not quite, we had Sophie and Katie realise they wanted to date each other a couple of years ago. It wasn't exactly a revelation though and it didn't last.

Notrusthere · 02/07/2019 07:33

I'm worried about Amy too.

Either way she's going to get hurt by this. A) Curtis chooses someone else or b) he sticks with her but she find out what he's been saying.
I hope shes stronger than everyones giving her credit for.

Curtis was my favourite boy but I've gone off him completely. The way he talks and odd facial expressions really bother me.

During the kissing game was Amber saying she couldn't do the snog because of Michael, or did she just not fancy the guy and was being her usual rude self?

Louise0701 · 02/07/2019 07:46

@notrusthere I think because of Michael

SharedBluePlanet · 02/07/2019 07:48

I thought Amber was pretty rude during that kissing game - she made out she was sort of repulsed, just no need for that. She only thinks about herself really

carmenbea · 02/07/2019 07:49

Curtis has made himself look like a dick head. Clearly has no feelings for Amy was just hoping to be one of the favourite couples. When they find out they aren't he is no longer interested and decides he fancies Jourdan and tells that to basically everyone in the villa so obviously Amy is going to find out. Even though Jourdan has shown ZERO romantic interest in him and already has Danny and Jourdan into her Confused
There is something weird about the whole scenario whether Curtis has been told to do this by producers to get Amy out as they probably see her as an emotional liability or he is just really really stupid

Morgan12 · 02/07/2019 07:50

I'm not sure if any of the islanders will do as well as previous series islanders upon leaving.

Maura will be on late night celebrity game shows but is too risky for day time TV. Will probably be on celebs go dating next series.

Molly-Mae will do well. Clothing line for sure and maybe a hair extension range. If her and Tommy last they will do well together. Maybe even a show.

Lucie will get something aswell, even just for a while. But Maura and MM will be the two everyone remembers.

The other girls aren't nice enough to do well. Their personality are basically shit. They aren't likeable so won't sell anything. Instagram ads and night club appearances are their only hope.

The men hardly ever do as well as the women on leaving. I see Anton sticking around for a while. And Tommy, maybe even Curtis riding Tommy's coattails. The rest of them will fade into obscurity.

icelollycraving · 02/07/2019 07:51

Poor Amy. I totally think he’s reacting to not being a favourite couple. He thought they’d win it. She was jazz hands and perky at the beginning and now seems a bit squashed and upset, it’s not nice viewing.

fraxion · 02/07/2019 07:51

I think Amber is rude full stop. She is extremely full of herself, she's a 10/10 all round according to her. There is no chance of her and Michael going the distance, she is far too immature. She reminds me of a 2 year old with her constant 'why's'.

BenWillbondsPants · 02/07/2019 08:03

What are the girls like in Glasgow?

What are Glasgow girls like? A right laugh - the idea that they'd buy into Anton's chat is hilarious. He must get pied ten times for every success he has.

carmenbea · 02/07/2019 08:04

It annoys me how they are trying to really force this bromance between Tommy and Curtis. Probably trying to make them the next Chris & Kem which I can't see working as neither of them are funny Confused Tommy has his moments but Curtis is a complete gossip.
