I wonder who'll be unlucky in 'love'?

Love to know what part of Dublin Yolande is from - she has a Northside twang, but the typical uni 'southside' accents coming through. I really disliked her.

I have a few friends who are scientists. They all work in pharmaceuticals/medical research as clinical trial managers, patent attorneys, working in research labs etc.

They have described themselves as scientists but only in specific contexts. Eg. My friend saying something like 'well obviously, as a scientist, I love seeing STEM being encouraged at school for girls' (although it doesn't come out wanky like that!)

But they would never introduce themselves as 'a scientist' when asked 'what do you do?'

Yes - she really annoyed me as I think she misrepresented Irish women....

You're forgetting that everything's controlled on this show and she was more than likely told to introduce herself as a scientist.

Maura is probably more quintessentially Irish than Yewande. Then again, there's always a Dub/culchie divide, so that might be why they came across so differently.
A bit like a Londoner and someone from Yorkshire I suppose.
