I need a series that’s easy-watching, fun and funny at the moment! Friends was perfect, but I’ve now watched the whole of it. (I’d seen various episodes in the past but not the whole thing.) I’m wondering what else to watch. Any suggestions, please?

If you like Friends you will love Frankie and Grace. Same producer, absolutely the same kind of humour and relatable characters.

Abcd3 · 16/06/2019 21:53

Thank you! How I Met Your Mother sounds like a romance - is it quite light-hearted and therefore ok to watch at a time when feeling upset about love-life situation?! (The romances in Friends were light enough that they were totally fine - I just don’t feel up for anything heart-wrenching at the moment!)

Big Bang Theory, Modern Family ... whoah this is difficult!!!

bluebell34567 · 16/06/2019 21:55

how i met your mother is not all about romance as far as i remember.

Ninkaninus · 16/06/2019 21:57

Frasier.

World class intelligent comedy and has not aged at all.

Cyberworrier · 16/06/2019 21:57

New Girl is like a millennial Friends (light and about a flat share), on Amazon. For light comedy (but not exact same subject), Kimmy Schimdt and Crazy Ex Girlfriend on Netflix and Life in Pieces on Amazon.

Abcd3 · 16/06/2019 21:59

These suggestions all sound brilliant. Thanks so much everyone!

How I Met Your Mother is brilliant. Pretty much the same set up as Friends - group of 20-30 year olds living in New York hanging out in one spot (thought its a bar not a coffee shop). It does have lots of storylines about dating but there's a good mix of disasters, humorous situations and a sprinkling of actual romance. I love it!

Also you might like Modern Family, The Misdle, Fresh Off The Boat, The Office (American one), The Big Bang Theory, Parks and Recreation (one of my absolute favourites!) and Community.

How i met your mother is brilliant. Very well written. And not a romance. More about dating.

New Girl. Loved that.

Modern Family is great too.

Friends From College.

Big Bamg Theory.

Dynesty. The new version. Love it.

TheMonaOgg · 16/06/2019 22:04

Community - you can find it on C4's catch up service.

SomethingAboutNothing · 16/06/2019 22:05

The Middle is great, not romance though. Really funny.

The first few series of Modern Family are brilliant. So so funny.
parks and Rec is so good, if you like the documentary style, similar to the Office.

Also, how have you only just finished Friends?!?!?!? Confused
