I like Friends; what else would I like?!

I need a series that’s easy-watching, fun and funny at the moment! Friends was perfect, but I’ve now watched the whole of it. (I’d seen various episodes in the past but not the whole thing.) I’m wondering what else to watch. Any suggestions, please?

Oh and Brooklyn 99.

Teacakeandalatte · 16/06/2019 22:12

Quite different from friends but we are watching Futurama the animated sci-fi thing it's light hearted and funny.

growlingbear · 16/06/2019 22:13

Parks & Rec. I loved that. And it has many series.

Teacakeandalatte · 16/06/2019 22:14

Oh and Miranda if you haven't watched it before. My dd discovered it recently and loves it.

Definitely try How I Met Your Mother. Early seasons are brilliant.

Modern Family is fab as well.

youkiddingme · 16/06/2019 22:17

I just love Friends, I do not know how many times I've watched it.
All great suggestions, but for me nothing will ever beat Freinds.

Ninkaninus · 16/06/2019 22:19

I love Friends. I adore Frasier, though.

AliceRR · 16/06/2019 22:20

Not sure why but I never thought How I Met Your Mother was that good or funny

I loved Friends and also love Big Bang Theorry. Modern Family is fantastic.

Also liked Community, Kimmy Schmidt, The Good Place, Schittd Creek but they’re a bit different. Loved Craxy Ex Girlfriend and Gilmore Girls but also a bit different.

Coupling was very good. Similar feel to Friends but British.

Been watching the Mindy Project and that is light.

RuffleCrow · 16/06/2019 22:21

Gilmore Girls!

shinyblackdog · 16/06/2019 22:22

Situationally, How I Met Your Mother is basically Friends except there are only five of them, they hang out in a bar rather than a coffee shop and two of the five are a couple from the outset.

It's very good, I might re-watch. Surprised it's not on permanent re-run like Friends.

Frasier is great. And no-one is in a happy relationship.

Heartofglass12345 · 16/06/2019 22:25

The Big Bang theory - possibly the best ending I've ever seen!

Frasier is hilarious and I love it!

Watch Episodes. Matt Le Blanc plays himself in it (well kind of, the Matt Le Blanc in the show is a complete bastard though). It follows his character’s faltering career after Friends (with lots of references to the show throughout) and it’s very funny.

Big Bang theory
Frankie and Grace
Modern Family
Once upon a time
Life in pieces

mnahmnah · 16/06/2019 22:31

Definitively how I met your mother (just Friends with a different storyline) and Gilmore girls. I also flew through the series of Happy Endings which was a great Friends replacement.

fedup21 · 16/06/2019 22:34

Definitely Gilmore girls, Gavin and Stacey and Brooklyn 99.

BackforGood · 16/06/2019 22:36

Another vote for

How I met your Mother
New Girl
The Big Bang Theory

Drum2018 · 16/06/2019 22:37

Grace and Frankie is great. There are 5 seasons. if I remember correctly and I binge watched them last summer, watching the most recent series when it came out earlier this year. I think there's another series in the making.

I also binge watched Kath and Kim Blush - not for everyone but just pure daft.

Watched Gilmore girls with dd. Loved it.

crumpet · 16/06/2019 22:39

Can’t believe no-one has mentioned Parks & Recreation.

Ninkaninus · 16/06/2019 22:56

Parks and Rec has been mentioned 🙂

Ninkaninus · 16/06/2019 22:57

Yes I second Gilmore Girls. And Scrubs.

Redshoeblueshoe · 16/06/2019 23:00

Killing Eve it's actually much funnier than friends Grin

C0untDucku1a · 17/06/2019 08:29

Ah yes we loved episodes!

AlyssasBackRolls · 17/06/2019 08:30

Community was brilliant but hard to find now. The Good Place is lovely too.
