Albert Square is obviously off the radar of social services, the education authorities, planning committees, licensing authorities and the police. No one does anything by the book/legally. It's a virtual outlaw land.

Yes Cheryl surely is under the care of social services as SS were involved with Hayley directly as she had mental health problems and was admitted to hospital. Also the health centre surely needs her actual guardian to sign the forms for her vaccinations and developmental check ups. A babysitter can't just pop along with a baby for these things. I remember DH took DD for one of her vaccinations. I was at home really tired with a sick toddler. The health centre rang me to ask why I wasn't there and DH said she wasn't impressed at all that I hadn't gone too. Yet in EE, a third cousin had bring a baby along for vaccinations!

True that things like licencing permission, the Social services, education departments and so on are all very much airbrushed on EE or rarely mentioned at all -
i am sure that the social would be checking up on Cherry in real life and Kathy would be filling in oodles of paperwork on line for her new bar. it cant be that easy to open a new establishment, plus now she is rarely in the place now new head Bobby is back.

They just recruit their friends into jobs without any sign of contracts or anything legal at all, no mention of rates of pay or working hours.

Yeah everyone gets jobs through word of mouth! They are fired on a whim too and rehired the next day. The Square must be a mad world to live in!

Nancy, nah, we are meant to believe that Kathy came back from South Africa and nothing more was done about her deceit! I think that the man that hid in the cupboard pretending to be dead in real life years ago went to prison? you would think there would be some repercussions.

Amniocentesis is where they use a needle into the uterus isn’t it? It’s not just a scan.
