Spoilers.

Spoilers.

Anyone else get up at silly o'clock to watch?

Sooooo....

Holy fuck! Arya for queen 👑

OP posts:
StylishMummy · 29/04/2019 06:33

I can't even.

Shaking with adrenaline. All through episode I was saying 'this is shit, 8 seasons and the night king just kills everyone'

We love Arya. Lady Lyanna Mormont - what a hero!

Stunned to see so many main characters left standing- assume there is a further battle due

OP posts:
AfterLaughter · 29/04/2019 07:21

I’ve just finished it.

I sobbed. And roared. And laughed. Then I reached absolute utter despair when the Night King didn’t burn and raised all the newly dead. I thought that’s it. They’re all fucked. There’s absolutely nothing any of them can do.

Then ARYA out of nowhere. FUCKING GU ON GAL Grin

AfterLaughter · 29/04/2019 07:22

Still gotta win the Throne so needed some still standing however it’s not clear who is left.

sashh · 29/04/2019 07:25

Arya!

All that wandering around selling shellfish and aing beaten by the waif - all totally worth it.

AfterLaughter · 29/04/2019 07:31

It needs to be screened in cinemas! It would look amazing. Absolutely beautiful, the entire episode.

I’m rewatching later, did Arya steal a Wights face? I had wondered where she had wandered off too. Her and the Hound though. When she flies over the roof and he snaps out of his panic.

If Sansa and Tyrion don’t get married again I will be FEWM.

StylishMummy · 29/04/2019 07:48

@AfterLaughter I think the Hound and Arya's relationship is one of my favourites, to watch it develop from S1E2 all the way to now, from hating each other to almost father/daughter

Sansa and Tyrion would be awesome - the fact she even mentioned it I think was significant.

I knew NK wouldn't burn as we were only half way through the episode!

OP posts:
AfterLaughter · 29/04/2019 08:35

@StylishMummy Nope it couldn’t have been that simple. Bran looked really annoyed that she’d killed NK.

I’m watching again in case I missed anything.

How did Jorah survive running with the Dothraki?

StylishMummy · 29/04/2019 08:46

I thought that! Almost as if he'd accepted his fate, but Arya- OMFG Maisie Williams for prime minister.

I'm gutted to be at work where no ones watched it and I have to wait until tomorrow to discuss.

Theories for next episode;
Dany resents Jon
Sansa hates on Dany
Dany plots to kill Jon
Dany pregnant?
Brienne, Jaime, Pod and Tormund head for Kings Landing first, followed by rest of remaining army

Geekster1963 · 29/04/2019 11:14

I really don't know how that episode was going to end! Just as they seemed to be getting somewhere the dead found a way through. Stuff of nightmares.

There didn't seem to be many main character deaths, it will be interesting to se where it goes from here.

Maybe Arya did have a Whight's face that would make sense on how she got so close and there in one peice. I think she will take on Jamie's face and kill Cersi so she thinks Jamie has killed her.

Geekster1963 · 29/04/2019 11:43

One of the early bits that got me on this episode was when the Dothtraki went towards the dead and one by one their lit swords went out all the episode I was just Shock

DemelzaP · 29/04/2019 11:53

Did anyone else think the idea of putting all the women and children in the crypts without taking the bodies out was a bit stupid? I spent most of the episode waiting for them to wake up.

I spent most of the episode crying through.

I had previously accidentally read a 'leaked spoiler' that said Sansa and Theon were going to get married. I'm glad it's not true!

DemelzaP · 29/04/2019 11:55

I do feel its a bit of a let down that all that's left now is the fight against Cersei.

Bumsnet69 · 29/04/2019 12:34

I’m excited to see what drama happens when the truth about Jon is revealed to everyone. Kind of hope Sansa or Arya kill Dany.

Honeyroar · 29/04/2019 12:43

I adored that episode! I've never really liked a battle scene before. I'm still reeling.

So sad to see Theon go. Where the hell did Ayra come from? I was even a bit sad to see Melisander die at the end.

Why are you all still hating Dany? She risked another dragon and left herself in mortal peril to rescue Jon again. She could've let him die and ended her problems.

There's a lot of army power gone. Particularly Dany's army.. The battle against Cersei won't be easy.

What were they all staring at in the crypt? Wights dying or something else?

Wow. Emotional roller coaster or what! A perfect mirror to last week's episode.

Honeyroar · 29/04/2019 12:45

I don't think Bran was pissed off Ayra killed the night King either. He gave her that dagger last season. He knew what would happen..

StylishMummy · 29/04/2019 13:16

I honestly felt at the second Theon fell that the rest of the series would be the NK and the white walkers moving towards kings landing and Cersei finally falling. The second Arya leapt in a practically leapt off the sofa with relief and excitement. Amazing to see that it's another female character to save everyone's arses!

OP posts:
BasiliskStare · 29/04/2019 13:45

Can I ask something - can the NK and his dead army cross water - so if so could JS & cersie ( if they thought necessary) just hole up over the narrow sea ? ( Have not read books an as you can tell have no idea Grin )

Honeyroar · 29/04/2019 14:10

They say not, but he could have flown his blue dragon over, surely? Doesn’t matter now.

The Night King was like The Terminator crosses with Billy Idol! I really thought he’d killed Ayra for a moment.

I liked that bits said in early series are being tied in now.

Captaindobbin · 29/04/2019 14:29

I loved it. I thought Arya was going to die at the very end because didn’t someone say in the very beginning something about when spring comes they will find you with icy fingers around your neck?! If anyone remembers the exact wording of that i would be very grateful.

Lweji · 29/04/2019 15:19

Just in case, the first thread about episode 3 is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/telly_addicts/3572241-The-Nights-Watch-GAME-OF-THRONES-SEASON-8-EPISODE-3-April-29-UK-Spoilers-after-2-am?msgid=86682086

For those who were up for the 2 am showing. Grin

I think she will take on Jamie's face and kill Cersi so she thinks Jamie has killed her.
He has to die first.

LunaMay · 29/04/2019 15:20

Did Alys Karstark survive? I feel like i missed a lot and need a rewatch but obviously Theon was standing alone and she was with him yes?

BG2015 · 29/04/2019 21:12

It was an amazing episode. I was shaking all the way through. I just didn't know how it was going to end - going to have to watch it again.

IceniSky · 29/04/2019 21:19

Did Ghost die? I only saw him at the beginning.

cavycavy · 29/04/2019 21:48

So pleased Tormund survived!

I think Ghost appears in the trailer for the next episode.

SinkGirl · 29/04/2019 22:25

Hoo that was tense.

I am a teensy bit disappointed in the writing and the score. For me GoT has had one of the best TV scores ever, maybe the best - this episode didn’t quite live up to it for me.

Also, who came up with the battle plan? Absolutely useless, whoever it was. So much could have been avoided with some good usage of the dragons.

And ever since they’ve started obsessively showing the crypt, it was obvious what was going to happen - and yet they didn’t make as much use of it as I expected.

Still - Arya. Bloody brilliant. The only bit that got close for me was Jorah saving Dany, and Beric / Sandor saving Arya. Melisandre’s death was really quite beautiful.
