We were discussing the brilliance that is The Shield on the Line of Duty thread and someone pointed out the complete 7 series is now available on All4.

I cannot recommend this strongly enough. Absolutely amazing.

We started watching again last night - I forgot how well things seem to be going for the Strike Crew when we first meet them. Everything seems such fun, until it isn’t!

A couple I know worked with Catherine Dent (Dani), and the wife was obsessed with Lem - so Dent arranged for him to meet the couple for lunch. So jealous 😂

I saw a clip on Lem and Kenny was crying - he was gutted when he read the script but thought it was perfect, just didnt want to leave. Apparently got paid for the next season anyway.

Normally as it’s such an old show I wouldn’t worry but it seems very few Brits have seen it, which is a terrible shame! I wonder if All4 having it means C4 will be showing it in a late slot or something. Maybe we need two threads!

Bates Motel starts out quite trashy but gets so good after s1. The last series is absolutely crushing. I think Kenny first shows up in S2 but you do need to watch it all.

Yes dancemom - it’s all on All4 for free (although I may buy it all on amazon Prime because the ads are annoying me 😂).

We’ve been rewatching too although only up to episode 7 (don’t get to binge watch these days!) - last time we got through all 7 seasons in under three weeks 😂

I keep people saying they’ve given up after the pilot and I want to scream NOOOOOOOO at them.

Also, how amazing is Jay Karnes (Dutch)? I don’t understand how that guy hasn’t had a much bigger career - he is just amazing.

I do find it hard to stomach the scenes of Julian moralising though, knowing what Jace did to his wife. I hope he’s rotting in that cell, the piece of shit.

I forgot how much of an outright shit he is, especially at first. I watched the first episode again and wondered how I ever ended up liking him at all. Then the middle of season 1 comes along (with the Sun Li and Connie stuff).

This is why I love The Shield - the characters are so complex, it’s all shades of grey. People go on about Breaking Bad, and of course it is great, but I’ll take The Shield any day.

It’s so hard rewatching it - certain things are happening and I’m basically yelling at the screen “no don’t do that!” as there’s so much that happens even now that comes back to haunt them later.

Gah it’s good. Maybe we need a rewatch thread and a newbies thread so we don’t spoil any newbies - this programme is very spoilable!

The Shield is fabulous and I've started rewatching cos of this thread!

We had just finished binge watching Sons of Anarchy and came across a the Shield cos of Walton Goggins and Kurt Sutter. Dutch is my favourite character

Or maybe Claudette. Either way, those too got me hooked in season 1.

I love how Ronnie is basically an extra with no lines and a bad tache at this point!

We watched The Shield before SoA, and I do love (most of) SoA but I think The Shield is so much better.

It’s okay - definitely the weakest of the three, but still enjoyable. DH got quite hooked.

Just to add, I couldn't get into SOA at all

Took me half a season to get into SoA but I perservered and I’m glad I did - similarly to The Shield, once everything kicks off it’s epic.

Unfortunately there’s almost a whole season that’s not great, but the last couple in particular are awesome.

Oh wow. I bought all these boxsets 2nd hand from play.com and binged when I was ill a few years back.

I think it was on C5 during the week originally. I'd seen the odd episode and really liked it but had always intended to do it all.
Love that Walton Goggins is turning up everywhere these days.Really looking forward to reading reactions on here
