kazza Shock Grin

I'm just watching Thiem - Munar - it's only 3-2 first set but v enjoyable so far! Lots of nice orange tennis rallies.

Fizzywinegum · 25/04/2019 13:12

Not able to watch tennis today Sad. I like watching Thiem and would like to be watching some orange tennis.

As much as I like David I still want Rafa to win - I’ve not really enjoyed watching his last few matches so might be best to just check on the scores.

They were talking about Djokovic on the Tennis podcast and saying that last week he looked as if he didn’t want to be on a tennis court. Apparently he was on holiday and his coach was waiting for him in Monte Carlo.

Someone been reading this thread? Grin

PrivateIsles · 25/04/2019 13:19

Grin Jane I wonder!!

fizzy I've not listened to the last couple of podcasts yet, will have to tune in.

Wee Munar has gone off the boil a bit here.

kazzaD66 · 25/04/2019 13:30

I've learned not to believe anything I read about Djok anymore. They say he doesn't want to play tennis, he's injured, he's not there mentally etc etc....and then he goes and wins everything! Hmm

JaneJeffer · 25/04/2019 13:32

Too true kazza. He's like those people at school who used to pretend they never studied and then got A's!

PrivateIsles · 25/04/2019 13:42

Maybe he's playing mind games with us!

Fizzywinegum · 25/04/2019 13:48

Yes I think you’re all probably right about Djok Grin

PrivateIsles · 25/04/2019 13:51

Rafa is just warming up. Why do they always have those height/weight graphics? I suppose height is ok, but their weight - what is the relevance of that?! Hmm They aren't boxers.

Yep I think ignoring everything Djokovic says is the way to go.
Against anyone else and I'd want Ferrer to win today but Vamos Rafa!

PrivateIsles · 25/04/2019 13:51

Ferru looks his usual energetic self!

PrivateIsles · 25/04/2019 14:08

I just went into the front room for about 10 mins and when I came back they were still only on the second game!

PrivateIsles · 25/04/2019 14:59

It's raining in Barcelona.

Meanwhile Carlos Moya is rocking a v fetching beard.

Raahh · 25/04/2019 15:01

private you are trying to do AC out of a job again, aren't you? Grin

Grin any wildlife to report?

PrivateIsles · 25/04/2019 15:04

Grin I'd almost - shock - forgotten AC's love of beards!! I hope Carlos keeps it for Wimbledon, AC will love it.
And so will I Grin

PrivateIsles · 25/04/2019 15:12

They are now showing last year's final... where it's also a rain delay!! Hmm Just why?!

Fizzywinegum · 25/04/2019 17:53

Looks as if Rafa had an easier match today. Dimitrov lost which won’t be good for him or his ranking and Tsitsipas has lost the first set against Struff.

PrivateIsles · 25/04/2019 18:18

Yes Rafa was good today - looking quite positive. Ferrer was all teary at the end - very sweet.

Oh bloody hell Grigor!! I started to worry a bit when he lost the second set, but Amazon had switched back to Rafa by then so I forgot about him - sorry Grigor.

I saw Cilic gave his opponent an overruled point - which brought up match point Shock nice sportsmanship although he did then lose!! Still, lovely guy, which is the main thing, right? Grin

JaneJeffer · 25/04/2019 18:30

Nice guys finish last Wink

Fizzywinegum · 25/04/2019 18:45

Glad that Rafa looked more positive today - Ferrer seems to have been retiring for ages - he is quite sweet though.

Poor Dimitrov and Cilic really seem to be on a downward spiral - especially Cilic as a former Grand Slam winner and finalist. He is a nice guy (Djok probably wouldn’t have given away the point Grin)

Looks as if Tsitsipas could be on his way out which is a shame as I like watching him and he did so well on clay last year.

Fizzywinegum · 25/04/2019 18:52

And Struff has won - it’s his birthday so I might let him off! He’ll be playing Rafa tomorrow - could be a tough one for Rafa.

Raahh · 25/04/2019 19:39

Struff seems to have had a few decent results of late.

Grigor is definitely not doing well, is he?

Was it David's last tournament? I vaguely remember reading he intended to play til Madrid, but I could have that wrong.
