Just had a slight panic when I saw the thread was nearly full.

I am now off to check the schedule properly- to see what I'll miss todayGrin

Foggy 5-4 up in first set - not sure what’s going on with Rafa - he keeps losing his serve. Foggy has been arguing with the umpire and has had a code violation.

mama1980 · 20/04/2019 15:43

Not good - foggy just took the first set.

DramaAlpaca · 20/04/2019 15:53

Something isn't right with Rafa, that much is clear.

mama1980 · 20/04/2019 15:53

A bit worried now...

Fizzywinegum · 20/04/2019 15:59

He doesn’t look right at all Drama - not looking at all good for Rafa Sad

mama1980 · 20/04/2019 16:03

Definitely drama Sad

Fizzywinegum · 20/04/2019 16:21

Sad for Rafa but well done Foggy.

Raahh · 20/04/2019 16:31

I fell asleep.

Not really the result I wanted to wake up to.Sad

It was never going to be an easy task, defending so much. I'm a bit worried for the rest of the season.

As I told you all a whil;e ago - I reckon Rafa's going to announce retirement this year. Make the most of him.

Private I hope you are moving by now.

kazzaD66 · 20/04/2019 16:53

Crikey, just seen the Rafa result! Apparently, Foggy is only the fourth person to beat Rafa at least 3 times on clay (others are Thiem and Gaston Gaudio, both 3 times, and Novak 7 times).
I also see Konta has won the first rubber in the Fed Cup.

Raahh · 20/04/2019 17:09

yes, Kazza, it's a very elite group!

Fed up now. Just when I needed cheering up, even the tennis conspired against me.
(it does that a lot Grin)

Finally arrived approx an hour after we should have Hmm and missed the entire match. Sounds like Rafa had the bad luck to run into Fognini on one of his good days.

Hopefully not too much to read into the result from Rafa's point of view...?

JaneJeffer · 20/04/2019 18:41

Just caught up on the score. Our Fabio's injuries mustn't be too bad then. Hope Rafa is ok.

magimedi · 20/04/2019 22:48

Sounds like Rafa had the bad luck to run into Fognini on one of his good days.

Or Fognini had the good luck ran into Rafa on one of his bad days!

Morning! Missed yesterday, as was out and about.

Hope everyone had a good Easter Sunday.
Well done to Foggy- better late than never , I suppose. He's one of those players that I like, but he irritates me , because rather like Monfils, he has built a career on being a temperamental showman. Bit of an under performer.

Hoping for a good week for Rafa in Barcelona, and that his wobbles in MC were just nerves.

Morning! I missed the tennis yesterday as well but pleased for Foggy. I’m not sure what was going on with Rafa in the semi - he didn’t seem obviously injured - just really flat and off his game. Yes hoping for better things in Barcelona.

The weather’s lovely again here - it’s like being abroad.

PrivateIsles · 22/04/2019 11:53

Morning all and hope you're having a nice Easter weekend. I can't believe this weather!

I didn't watch yesterday either, but I think Foggy deserved his win as well.

Also I just noticed when I saw a photo of him yesterday that his kit Armani!! A bit flash isn't it?!

mama1980 · 22/04/2019 11:53

Morning Smile I also missed the tennis yesterday.
I struggle to warm to foggy sometimes just because it always seems like he underperforms because he does the temperamental snowman thing but I am pleased for him and his interview was very gracious.
Hoping for a good week in Barcelona for Rafa.

Raahh · 23/04/2019 14:45

Afternoon! I have just been checking some of the Barcelona scores, good win for Ferrer against Mischa Zverev, very solid. I'd love him to go out on a good run this week.

I've just tuned in to see Sascha 3-0 down in the third set.

He needs wins ATM doesn't he?

PrivateIsles · 23/04/2019 16:17

That's a great result for David Raahh Smile Tennis

Raahh · 23/04/2019 17:22

So, another bad day at the office for Sascha. Are they playing doubles this week, the brothers?

OP posts:
PrivateIsles · 23/04/2019 17:40

No, they don't seem to be - which is a shame after today!

I see Lopez and Lopez have different partners as well - they were a good team, not sure what happened there or if this is just a one-off.

PrivateIsles · 23/04/2019 17:54

Zverev: "I'm in a hole and I don't know how to get out of it"

Sad I feel bad for him.

PrivateIsles · 23/04/2019 18:46

I've also just been reading that Wimbledon will not invite Gimelstob back for the invitational doubles which he's played since 2010. It doesn't say whether he could come back as a coach (if Isner is over his injury by then).
