Just had a slight panic when I saw the thread was nearly full.

I am now off to check the schedule properly- to see what I'll miss todayGrin

Just a bit of hair tossing Raahh in a Timotei kind of way Grin

Raahh · 16/05/2019 21:50
Grin

He has lovely hair.

The more chilled he is, the more riled the crowd/Foggy is likely to get. Doesn't take much for the more unpredictable Foggy to make an appearance.

You've all forgotten his phone smashing again Grin

kazzaD66 · 16/05/2019 22:37

Eh?!

JaneJeffer · 16/05/2019 22:38

See what I mean Grin

Fizzywinegum · 16/05/2019 23:01

Do you mean the headphone smashing in the next gen match Jane? They were talking about it tonight and saying that he tried to put the smashed headphones back on and was surprised when they didn’t work.

Wasn’t it his Dad who was trying to talk to him? If it was then that was probably normal teenage behaviour Grin

PrivateIsles · 16/05/2019 23:08

Grin yes I remember that! And he refused to talk to his dad?!

I must say, Stefanos has been pretty good hasn't he - that's a great result beating our Fabio on his home turf.

Looks like Delpo's match winning streak could soon be over - after one day!! Hope I'm wrong though.

I see Diego Schwartzman plays Keith - will probably overlap with Rafa's match though. I reckon Diego will win that one.

Fizzywinegum · 16/05/2019 23:16

He did very well against a very partisan crowd against our Fabio Private - Foggy was his usual self with some amazing shots, a warning from the umpire and getting the umpire to ask the crowd to be quiet during points when they were cheering all of Tsitsipas’s errors and double faults.

Tsitsipas just seemed to rise above it all and was the better player.

Yes I fear for Delpo against Djokovic. Rafa against Verdasco should be good. Pleased that Keith managed not to get Struffed!

I'm not a fan of courtside coaching either especially by telephone. Just let them get on with it.

PrivateIsles · 16/05/2019 23:17

Rafa - Verdasco
Fed - Tsitsipas
Djok - Delpo
Keith - Diego

Good QF line up (think I've got it right anyway!). I'm making no predictions though!!

PrivateIsles · 16/05/2019 23:20

Jane he didn't hold back there, did he?!

JaneJeffer · 16/05/2019 23:50

There's a Wimbledon thing on BBC1 on Sunday at 2 to mark the reopening of No. 1 Court.

PrivateIsles · 16/05/2019 23:59

Brill thanks Jane I didn't know it was on tv. Jamie Murray is playing, not sure who else (probably Tim Henman? AC?!)

JaneJeffer · 17/05/2019 00:09

Mac is going to be there but I don't know if he's playing.

Raahh · 17/05/2019 06:57

Oh, Stef and the head phone smashingGrin.
To be fair, I can see why he got cross. They were probably messing up his hair. Grin

No, seriously, I think some players might have liked the coaching, but when you've spent all year without it, and your dad is suddenly twittering in your ear, you might think ' oi, I can manage without that thanks- how do you think I got here??'

Plus, apparently the earphones were a bit sweaty. Ewww.

The matches today should be interesting. A lot will deoend on how yesterday has affected them. I don't know how rattled Fed will be by his near miss. I think Stef could have a good shot, even though he will have had less rest.

Rafa should be fresh as a daisy, and Fernando might not have much left in his legs- baby Miguel might have kept him up too.

Bit worried for Delpo, but even Djok can have wobbles.

Hardest one to call, Keith and wee Diego. Could go either way, but not sure Keith is quite up to speed.

Should be some good tennis today. Not sure how much I’ll see - it’s my birthday (I’m 50 - eek!). It’s also my DMs birthday so will be required to do various (hopefully nice!) things. Will still hopefully be able fit some tennis in though Smile

I’ve already decided to take a leaf out Magi’s and grow old disgracefully Grin

magimedi · 17/05/2019 07:54

Happy Birthday, Fizzy.

I do not know how you can say I am disgraceful. I am a model of propriety & soberness..

Martina, Mac, Jamie Murray, Hewitt & Goran will all be playing on Sunday.

Fizzywinegum · 17/05/2019 08:04

Thanks magi of course you are Grin

The Wimbledon thing sounds good.

PrivateIsles · 17/05/2019 08:20

Happy birthday Fizzy Cake Have a great day - hopefully involving a bit of Tennis!

Ooh Goran - will definitely be tuning in.

JaneJeffer · 17/05/2019 09:36

Happy Birthday Fizzy and welcome to the 50 club Wine

kazzaD66 · 17/05/2019 12:21

Happy birthday fizzy CakeGinFlowers
I reached that wonderful milestone three years ago and it really is all downhill great fun from here on in.....HmmConfusedGrin

I'd forgotten about Stefanos smashing his headphones. Mind you, I forgive him because I don't agree with on court coaching Grin

The No 1 Court roof christening match sounds like fun. I must remember to record it as I shall probably be out. I remember the one for Centre Court, with Tim and Kim vs (a loved up) Steffi and Andre Grin Great fun!

MockerstheFeManist · 17/05/2019 13:03

Kyrgois:

Is Death too lenient for him?

Stupid little prick.

Raahh · 17/05/2019 13:08

Ooh- Federer has withdrawn from his match against Stef.

Go Tsitsipas! Grin

Happy birthday Fizzy
