There was speculation on twitter that Novak made more of his celebration than usual after the Kyrgios comments Grin quite funny really

PrivateIsles · 16/05/2019 18:40

Managed to take back control... of the iPad. Found Delpo match. Lovely and peaceful with no commentary.

Ruud looks v young. I think he trained at Rafa's academy iirc?

kazzaD66 · 16/05/2019 18:47

Glad you've got back control of the ipad private . Dear children really need to learn some manners at times Grin

JaneJeffer · 16/05/2019 18:53

One good thing about having teenagers is you don't have to let them watch all those annoying cartoons just to keep the peace Grin

Fizzywinegum · 16/05/2019 19:01

Yes Jane but now mine want to watch cycling and football - never had to watch my little pony though Grin

Third set tiebreak for federer/coric.

Raahh · 16/05/2019 19:11

Such a shame, so very close, Borna , that will rattle Roger. plus he will have a things to complain about . Shadows etc....Grin

Roger through - was a really good match. Coric played well.

kazzaD66 · 16/05/2019 19:13

Oh feck

Loving the photos of Sir Andy being knighted today Grin

Raahh · 16/05/2019 19:13

Rafa, meanwhile, seems to be carrying on where the Chardy match finished.

I noticed his second daughter was named in the reports of Andy's knighthood- it was pretty much known she is called Edie, but it has never actually been officially announced, he rarely ever mentions her by name.

Funnily enough, I know another Edie, born on exactly the same day!.

Fizzywinegum · 16/05/2019 19:24

My Nan was called Edie - Andy’s grandparents always reminded me of my grandparents - very sweet.

Rafa does look up for it. I think roger will be rattled by such a close match. The organisers probably did a huge sigh of relief.

Raahh · 16/05/2019 19:33

Delpo won! Hurrah!

Yay Delpo through - I agree it was nice and relaxing without any commentary - I didn’t miss it at all.

Raahh · 16/05/2019 19:37

Of course, in Fed's favour is the fact Stefanos and Foggy haven't played their second match yet, so will be out later.

One of the lights is out on the floodlights in the Rafa match - he’s mentioned it but not being too grumpy!

The commentators have just mentioned that Verdasco has recently become a Dad - they don’t think he will be too fresh after playing nearly five hours and with a new baby - maybe he’s running on adrenaline.

Raahh · 16/05/2019 19:45

Oh, how lovely for Fernando.

So, well done Rafa! 2 matches in a day for the loss of 2 games.

Not too shabby.

Yes looking pretty good for Rafa - he just seems to have a lot more energy about him now which was lacking in the last few weeks.

PrivateIsles · 16/05/2019 20:12

I completely missed Rafa there - looks like he meant business from the scoreline.

Verdasco's little baby was there after his first match today - he gave him (I think it's a boy?) a cuddle after he came off court, it was v cute.

So pleased for Delpo, does he play Djok next though, or have I imagined that? Must check the draw, my head is spinning from all these matches!

Also I saw from the scores that Keith managed to avoid a Struffing!! Grin

PrivateIsles · 16/05/2019 20:15

Aww Grin

Delpo

That's how ball kids should be treated!

JaneJeffer · 16/05/2019 20:19

Aww I love the way she was trying to jump up for it Grin

Fizzywinegum · 16/05/2019 21:01

Aw Delpo Smile I think he might be playing Djokovic next Sad

Just tuned into the foggy/Tsitsipas match - the crowd seem very animated - hopefully should be a good match.

Verdasco’s Baby is called Miguel Smile

Raahh · 16/05/2019 21:33

Aww, Miguel. Grin. Lovely.

OP posts:
Fizzywinegum · 16/05/2019 21:43

Tsitsipas dealing really well with the Rome crowd - they are understandably supporting Foggy but cheering any mistakes that Stefanos makes but he seems to be taking it in his stride.

Raahh · 16/05/2019 21:44

Fizzy good for him.

There will be no chair throwing from Stefanos. Grin

Fizzywinegum · 16/05/2019 21:48

Yes Raahh he seems very zen Grin
