Just had a slight panic when I saw the thread was nearly full.

I am now off to check the schedule properly- to see what I'll miss todayGrin

PrivateI just checked in on the scores- will be a huge headache for them if all the matches are 3 set marathons!

Raahh I know!

Rafa is just warming up. I managed to navigate to the right court on Prime somehow - dumb luck probably Grin

Looking at the scores too - hopefully Cilic isn't about to get Struff'ed Grin

Raahh · 16/05/2019 11:39

Struff is becoming something of a liability Grin

Wow! Just looked at the scores and see that Konta has just beaten Sloane Stephens!

PrivateIsles · 16/05/2019 11:49

kazza I know! Talk about topsy turvy scorelines - she was 4-0 up in the first set and lost it, then somehow managed to win the next two!!

Plays Venus next I think... (probably in about half an hour or something)

PrivateIsles · 16/05/2019 11:52

I turned back to Thiem - Verdasco, it's right at the end of the third and it's really good. Thiem is getting the crowd going which is a bit unlike him!

PrivateIsles · 16/05/2019 11:56

Ooh Verdasco's won it!! Close one. Thiem's never beaten him apparently, in 4 matches..

Raahh · 16/05/2019 11:56

Maybe it's panic. - Verdasco could take this.

And I took my eye off the score for second- and he did!

I'm quite pleased for Fernando, really.

Rafa is doing ok.

Meanwhile Rafa is 5-0 up!

That's a really tough early match for Thiem, he would have expected to go further surely. But sadly he met his Nemesis in his first match!

Raahh · 16/05/2019 12:03

Makes Rafa's half a bit easier, as he would have met Thiem at the quarter final stage , I think.

OP posts:
Raahh · 16/05/2019 12:05

(Which is when they met 2 years ago- and Dom beat Rafa).

Glad Verdasco won but can't believe Thiem lost it. The last time I looked at the scores, he had broken back to lead 5-4 Confused

PrivateIsles · 16/05/2019 12:16

I know, some crazy scorelines today.

Am feeling a bit sorry for Chardy here.

kazzaD66 · 16/05/2019 12:21

Really hope Chardy doesn't get double bagelled private

Unfortunately, Cilic is getting Struffed Shock

Raahh · 16/05/2019 12:37

Poor Marin Sad.

It's been a bad year. His year has gone down, as Djok's has gone up.

PrivateIsles · 16/05/2019 12:47

Wow Rafa - blink and you miss him!

Fizzywinegum · 16/05/2019 12:49

Not able to watch at the minute but keeping up with the scores and this thread - there’s a lot to catch up on!

Poor Cilic Sad. Hopefully I’ll be able to watch some later if they’ve all got to go round again - must be a nightmare for the organisers.

Must be tough for the players having to play two matches in a day - don’t want to be ageist but it might be more difficult for Roger.

Raahh · 16/05/2019 12:50

Hurrah!

Vamos !

I think Basilashvili , of the lovely beard, will be a tougher prospect, but a swift start was needed today.

PrivateIsles · 16/05/2019 12:51

Ooh I just found Delpo v Goffin. Out on Court 4! Shock

Raahh · 16/05/2019 12:53

It's not great for them to be on random courts, but better than not playing at all, really.

Fed plays Coric next. Which could be tricky.

OP posts:
PrivateIsles · 16/05/2019 12:54

Ah look at lovely Goffin. I do like him. But come on Delpo!

Also, the umpire's voice from the next court is so loud, it's v distracting. I think it's the Kyrgios match (winner to play Delpo or Goffin).

Ah I just love tennis!!

Raahh · 16/05/2019 12:57

Vamos Delpo!
And I know very little about Ruud- but i hope he wipes Kyrgios off the court. Grin.

Apparently his dad was also a Norwegian player.
Come on, young Casper!
