This is being pushed as the new Fleabag. Hard to like Miri so far. Who has she murdered?

OP posts:
SavageBeauty73 · 16/04/2019 23:20

Just started....

BummyKnocker · 17/04/2019 00:08

Me too.

Hmmm. I need a backstory.

HoraceCope · 17/04/2019 07:44

just came on here to see if anyone had seen it

HoraceCope · 18/04/2019 06:27

my impression is that she didnt intend to murder anyone and i wonder if her friend mandy was there too?

BringMeTea · 18/04/2019 08:21

I binge watched 4 episodes. I like it! Quite dark. She is a talent. Am confused by the guy following her around though.

SavageBeauty73 · 18/04/2019 13:25

I thought from episode 4 it got really good. Dark but funny bits.

HoraceCope · 18/04/2019 14:13

i dont like her mum and her ex eww

SavageBeauty73 · 18/04/2019 16:12

Seriously grim!

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/04/2019 21:23

Seen first. Quite liked it

Must be hard to start again after being inmorison for so long

And was that her mum in the car with the lover

drigon · 21/04/2019 00:46

I have just watched all 6 episodes and enjoyed it. The first couple were a bit slow and Miri doesn't seem likeable or engaging at first. She definitely grew on me and I started to like and sympathise with her character. The Dad, Mum, Bill next door and the biscuit-snaffling probation officer were my favourite characters overall. Not really like Fleabag at all, apart from having a 30-something protagonist. The story was very good too, kept you guessing.

TunstallTansy · 22/04/2019 22:55

We ended up watching all six episodes in one big binge. Really liked it, very darkly funny at times.

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 23/04/2019 04:41

If anyone can pm me spoilers/synopsis I would really appreciate it thanks x

Figgygal · 23/04/2019 10:30

On episode 2 now and enjoying it

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/04/2019 23:58

Anyone else still watching

CoraCoo · 25/04/2019 00:03

I liked it, watched it all in one go. But I felt the investigator guy became a bit pointless and also the reason why Lara was so angry with Miri and the whole crux of the incident was pretty obvious. If Dom knew about the rumours, loads of people must have so why didn't Miri or the investigator? And also would people really be that angry/concerned about it 18 years later? There was a lot of retribution going on.

florentina1 · 25/04/2019 08:07

I watched 2 episodes and my mind about it. Thought the mum and the ex in a relationship was a bit unnecessary .

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/04/2019 09:27

I wasn’t sure about the mum. The mum is shagging/wanking her daughters ex?

It just another bearded man

Watching week by eeek so no spoilers please

I’m assuming that she didn’t actually kill her girl and was innocent but jailed

ASmallMovie · 25/04/2019 13:24

I kept watching to the end but found it all too unbelievable. I know unbelievable is okay if something else (such as humour) compensates. But I just couldn't suspend my disbelief.

Also found it a bit too preachy at times and trying too hard to deliver a message. Didn't do it for me, but in saying all that, something kept me watching - I guess the hook of finding out what actually happened.

HoraceCope · 25/04/2019 15:10

I wonder if you would actually go back to the scene of the crime as it were, back to your childhood home.

Isitmybathtimeyet · 25/04/2019 20:30

I really enjoyed this and like Miri from the start. I am a huge fan of Daisy Haggard; she was great in Green Wing and one of my favourite characters in Episodes.

EachandEveryone · 26/04/2019 19:22

I enoyed it but the mother mase me queezy

JessMariano · 29/04/2019 13:42

I liked a lot of elements, not sure everything worked as a whole though.

Great to see Christine Bottomley do something different though, she always seems to play the same character.

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/05/2019 21:29

Impressed with the dad hitting mums affair

Let alone moist pussy !!

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/05/2019 21:30

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 21/05/2019 10:56

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER

I'm with cora on this.
We are expected to believe that…

  1. An 18 year old would have got 18 years without parole
  1. That her defence of it being self-defence, despite having a bite mark, would not have reduced the sentence
  1. That neither 3rd friend nor boyfriend would have mentioned the policeman having an affair as part of her defence/motive for best friend biting her in the first place which she defended herself from
  1. That the defence or appeal lawyer or a hired private detective who would have done enquiries to that effect - why they had been fighting - would have drawn a blank over 18 years
  1. That the victim's diary had not been found in evidence previously or if found, had not been destroyed already to protect the policeman's reputation
  1. That the community would respond as they did after nearly two decades when she pushed the victim sustaining head injury with no other details that would make the crime notorious/that such a death would not have been manslaughter in the first place

I liked the series as a whole but the plot holes are flipping ginormous and more of a crime than Miri ever did
