Anyone else see this?
Rather liked the idea of a middle class woman trying to find her feet and get her life back after prison. Finding her parents a but annoying already though.

Just watched the first episode, I liked it!

Pemba · 16/04/2019 12:54

I quite enjoyed it, I don't think I'd really class it as a comedy though. Very interested to find out what she did, must have killed someone to be in prison for 18 years, right? So I assume she committed the crime around the age of 20, and is now late thirties, do we think?

It is obviously going to be very hard for her as people in her local area seem to remember what she did, she'll be hounded. Wouldn't it have been better for her to live in a different area, change her name, etc?

I may be overthinking this

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 29/04/2019 12:20

Best thing on telly I've seen for ages, I binge watched it all. Such a good cast.

The80sweregreat · 30/04/2019 16:03

Her parents are annoying but this has promise. She has done something bad but ( I guess) it was self defence or something like that? She is a good actress though.
I agree. She should have lived elsewhere really!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 30/04/2019 16:12

I thought the parents were amazing. I'm sad I binge watched it and saw it all in one go!

The80sweregreat · 30/04/2019 19:15

It was very good! Reminded me a bit of Fleabag but even edgier.
I ended up binge watching it.

NurseButtercup · 02/05/2019 20:41

I binged watched it and enjoyed it, I wonder if there will be another series?

namechangedbutneedadvice · 02/05/2019 22:52

I just finished this... what a great series! Daisy Haggard played the part so well and I loved the mix of quirky / black comedy. Sad I've watched it all now!

The80sweregreat · 03/05/2019 21:40

She was curiously unapologetic about things!

2rebecca · 04/05/2019 20:19

Nothing on TVthis evening so started watching this on iPlayer. Good so far

longtompot · 04/05/2019 23:13

I have just watched the first 3 episodes and love love love it! Really bittersweet. I will watch it week by week & not binge as I find I miss things when I do that.

PinkDaydreams · 05/05/2019 19:25

Giving this a watch tonight, nothing else on tv. Enjoying it so far!

PinkDaydreams · 05/05/2019 19:28

Flippin eck?! Was that the ex going at it with her mother??!!

LottieBalloo · 05/05/2019 20:11

I found this after Fleabag ended and I watched it all. So amazing, absolutely loved it!

longtompot · 05/05/2019 20:12

@PinkDaydreams yup Envy

PinkDaydreams · 05/05/2019 20:22

Only planned to watch the first episode, I’m now nearly at the end of episode 3 and can see me watching all of them 😂 can’t get over the mum and the ex!😳

The80sweregreat · 05/05/2019 20:30

The mum and the ex is cringe!

PinkDaydreams · 05/05/2019 20:58

Aarrrrrgghhhh! The iplayer has crashed!!

CoolCarrie · 06/05/2019 22:28

Do we know who she killed yet? I have missed the last two episodes

2rebecca · 06/05/2019 23:53

Have they removed it from iPlayer? Will be pissed off if so as on episode 3 and trying to space it as not much else on.

implantsandaDyson · 07/05/2019 23:59

I've just watched it all in one go on the iplayer. I loved it, it was hands down the best thing I've watched in a very long time and I watch a lot of TV [I like to do my bit Grin ]

PinkDaydreams · 08/05/2019 09:01

It was good wasn’t it! Really enjoyed it. Tried watching flea bag after reading recommendations on here, couldn’t get into it though.

LoafofSellotape · 08/05/2019 09:13

I thought Fleabag was dire, couldn't understand the praise for it at all.

LoafofSellotape · 08/05/2019 09:14

Really hope there's more of this quality of programme, it was so good.

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 21/05/2019 11:02

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER

We are expected to believe that…

  1. An 18 year old would have got 18 years without parole
  1. That her defence of it being self-defence, despite having a bite mark, would not have reduced the sentence
  1. That neither 3rd friend nor boyfriend would have mentioned the policeman having an affair as part of her defence/motive for best friend biting her in the first place which she defended herself from
  1. That the defence or appeal lawyer or a hired private detective who would have done enquiries to that effect - why they had been fighting - would have drawn a blank over 18 years
  1. That the victim's diary had not been found in evidence previously or if found, had not been destroyed already to protect the policeman's reputation
  1. That the community would respond as they did after nearly two decades when she pushed the victim sustaining head injury with no other details that would make the crime notorious/that such a death would not have been manslaughter in the first place

I liked the series as a whole but the plot holes are flipping ginormous and more of a crime than Miri ever did

@The80s I think she was obviously sorry but knew she could not change the past, knew it was an accident/defence/reptilian brain reaction, had done her time and could not keep apologising for it?
