Honestly, much as I love Ghosts, I don't think the plot is going to stand up to this level of scrutiny Grin

LIZS · 21/05/2019 19:23

Just caught up. Love that plague ghosts saved the day. Really hope for a next series , pretty please

Someone at work recommended Urban Myths today and I have started watching one of them and Mat Baynton is in it playing Kenny Everett. He's a very good mimic.

Really so you don't think we should be planning a PhD on the plight of the German airmen?

AnyoneButAnton · 21/05/2019 19:32

I thought the jokes were as good as ever in the last episode, but I was a bit disappointed in the plot. It was such a standard British Sitcom “last episode in the series”. “Oh no, something drastic is going to happen that will destroy the entire premise! Hurrah, it’s been averted, the end.” I was expecting something that pushed things a tiny bit further, either emotionally or in terms of plot. But that’s just being picky - I did love the plague pit ghosts saving the day.

Reallybadidea · 21/05/2019 19:34

Sadly I think a Masters dissertation would be the limit

AnneEyhtMeyer · 21/05/2019 19:46

Damn your eyes Really!!!!

FoxSquadKitten · 21/05/2019 20:06

I wondered if he German airmen we sitting in a tree after their plane crashed and the tree isn't there now?

Hmm why would they both die in the tree though?? 🧐

AnneEyhtMeyer · 21/05/2019 20:08

Shot down and plane crashed into the tree? Setting the tree alight and destroying the tree leaving them floating in the air for eternity?

AnneEyhtMeyer · 21/05/2019 20:17

Actually this episode was written by Jim Howick and Mat Baynton so next time @tkband3 sees Jim dog walking she needs to ask in-depth questions about the German airmen and take copious notes for us.

tkband3 · 21/05/2019 20:24

Will do! I saw him this morning and there’s still no confirmation on the second series as yet ☹️. Keep everything crossed 🤞🏻🤞🏻.

AnyoneButAnton · 21/05/2019 20:42

I think we need to not ask any questions about gravity in relation to the ghost airmen, because that might lead to questions about chairs and beds which must be avoided at all costs.

EnidButton · 21/05/2019 20:44

I just want to know they're ok. Apart from the whole 'being dead and stranded in mid air in a foreign country for eternity with one person' thing.

MissFitton · 21/05/2019 20:44

Just watched again with the dcs. I thought Fanny's speech about being half a button was sweet and it was lovely how excited all the ghosts were at bring able to save the day with the hidden jewel.

I've really loved this series. It's fab and I hope @tkband3's dog walking friend appreciates how much we all love it.

Slaymill · 21/05/2019 20:49

Here is Shane Allen's email [email protected] the Controller of Comedy Commissioning.

Might be worth a request for series 2

Reallybadidea · 21/05/2019 20:50

Have we all emailed the BBC to beg for request another series?

AnneEyhtMeyer · 21/05/2019 21:03

I've sent praise and a request for more series via the BBC Contact Us form but I'll definitely email the bloke above.

I'm gutted they haven't immediately confirmed a second series. They should do because they have an absolute gem just sitting there.

I've pre-ordered the DVD today.

merrymouse · 21/05/2019 21:05

I think the rules for each ghost could vary depending on the reason why they haven't passed on. Perhaps there is something preventing the ghost airmen from falling - could be as simple as a fear of hitting the ground?

merrymouse · 21/05/2019 21:06

They should do because they have an absolute gem just sitting there.

I would have thought it would also have international appeal.

Crazycat16 · 21/05/2019 21:16

Have we all emailed the BBC to beg for request another series?

Sigh... gutted it isn’t already half way through filming because it now means we have to wait an age for the next instalment

AnneEyhtMeyer · 21/05/2019 21:16

Yes merry and they need far far more episodes than 6 to sell it abroad.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 21/05/2019 21:39

I can’t spend too much time on the German airmen. I’m still traumatised by the sinister party ghost.

LarryGreysonsDoor · 21/05/2019 21:44

I’ve spent the whole thing trying to ignore floors, chairs and beds.

It was so good. They must make another series. They must.

BumandChips · 21/05/2019 21:49

I need to know more about the German airmen.

I think Alison should go back for a chat, they seemed so happy that she could see them!

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 21/05/2019 22:30

Ooh I’ll email to request more!

ShahOfSplosh · 21/05/2019 22:31

I thought the airmen might have been caught on a spire that no longer exists whilst bailing out but they aren't wearing parachutes and I don't they'd be swinging their legs.

I've rewatched episode 5 many times, it's my favourite, love the moonah stone ritual distracting from the dinner party and no one else knowing what's going on.
"stew update, the water's turned to clouds!"
Loved it!
