Been wanting to watch this for ages!

Fazackerley · 21/03/2019 21:49

Indyra is very beautiful. Love the ball scenes. The dialogue is pretty rubbish and some of the acting is dodgy but its all quite entertaining.

maxbabi · 21/03/2019 21:59

Enjoying it and so is my teen son Smile

SinisterBumFacedCat · 21/03/2019 22:01

Loving the music

bluebump · 21/03/2019 22:03

I’m enjoying it, loving the music.

BondiandBabe · 21/03/2019 22:15

Brilliant. The music and dancing has totally made my day.

Zark · 21/03/2019 22:16

I thought it was really good! Looking forward to the rest of the series!

Coffeetablejunk · 21/03/2019 22:20

I really enjoyed it! Amazing soundtrack

dogsdinnerlady · 22/03/2019 08:10

Enjoyed it but am confused. Are all the 'queens' female actors?

dogsdinnerlady · 22/03/2019 08:11

Reminds me of both Billy Elliot and Angels in America.

PigeonofDoom · 22/03/2019 08:12

No, I think they’re trans. I loved it too. Bit of hammy acting but it was fun and sweet.

Fazackerley · 22/03/2019 11:29

The transwoman who plays Angel is very beautiful. She passes well!

Zark · 22/03/2019 12:55

They’re trans. I think some of them have had similar struggles/backgrounds to the characters.

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/03/2019 15:03

On planner

Is it worth watching

PineappleTart · 22/03/2019 15:03

Loved this, might binge on iplayer this weekend

NurseButtercup · 22/03/2019 20:32

I know I sound ridiculous, but is this where Madonna "borrowed" vogue from???

Fazackerley · 22/03/2019 20:35

Yes and she made no secret of it, in fact I knew about the balls because of vogue which I was obsessed with at the time!

Supersimpkin · 22/03/2019 20:44

There's a brilliant doc on Netflix about the balls and the shows.

Runs alongside an even better doc on trans ladies that reveals how many of the ladies/artistes ended up murdered in NYC during the 80s and 90s - and how relaxed the police and authorities were about finding their killers.

Namechangeforthiscancershit · 22/03/2019 20:48

That sounds really interesting. Do you remember what it's called. Am useless at browsing Netflix

MrsJayy · 22/03/2019 20:54

I loved it i was also obsessed with this scene As a teenager Madonna just made it a mainstream with vogue, If you want to watch a good documentary Paris is Burning is on you tube it is about the Balls

MrsJayy · 22/03/2019 20:55

Paris is Burning is probably the Doc on netflix

mrwalkensir · 23/03/2019 21:38

It gets better after the first twenty minutes. It’s wonderful...may be one of the best things on tv. The credits ref Paris is Burning

PositiveVibez · 24/03/2019 02:01

The music is amazing and the first 20 minutes does not do the programme justice. Love it

ThanksItHasPockets · 24/03/2019 23:13

I absolutely loved it. The music was fabulous and I thought the motif of Running Up That Hill was particularly clever - a song about a man and woman wanting to swap places in their relationship.

DinaCaliente · 25/03/2019 13:32

Only watched the first two so far but I have already watched Paris is Burning and I'm a Drag Race fan so I understand the setting.

I am loving it, the acting is really good and the soundtrack is brilliant. I'm hoping I can find it on Spotify.

Ryan and Brad have done a really good job and it's nice to see a couple of AHS actors in there.
