I just want to move to France and buy a castle. 😂 Anyone else?

I love it. Dick Strawbridge is extraordinary- where did he learn all of his skills? I know he's an engineer. Not so keen on Angel's designs but love her look and they seem to live an amazing life. Their children are so lucky.

Spotsbeforemyeyes · 01/03/2019 08:42

I know he is isn't he? He can literally turn his hand to anything. Angel too. My dh is absolutely not handy with a screwdriver so we'd need a couple of million in order to pay people to renovate a Chateau 😂

I love the show. Every time I watch it I just want to start screen printing my own tiles and re-upholstering old furniture because Angel makes it look so easy and lovely -and I am so unartistic that it would just look horrific if I even tried-

CornishMaid1 · 01/03/2019 09:00

Oops - strikethrough fail!

missmouse101 · 01/03/2019 09:03

I love it too!

Spotsbeforemyeyes · 01/03/2019 09:03

cornishmaid me too. I actually have an old chest of drawers in the garage waiting for Angel to pop by 😂😂

I love it! Dick is just amazing-no matter what crazy ideas Angel has, he just puts his mind to it and works till it’s done!

My DH would love the idea of doing something like this, but in actual fact just procrastinates about everything so we’d end up living in a bloody roofless hovel and I would be forced to kill him!

Spotsbeforemyeyes · 01/03/2019 09:09

holidays hopping 🤣🤣

I wonder if the programme makers fund some of the renovation?

MumUndone · 01/03/2019 12:03

Love this programme but am sure they only show the good bits - certainly need a lot of resilience, optimism and resourcefulness to do what they're doing - and helps that Angel's parents look after the kids!

WindsfromtheNE · 01/03/2019 12:08

Oh I love it too. We're lucky enough to have a house in France and I often imagine myself swanning round thinking up wonderful design features. The reality is of course very different, and I actually spend most of my time mowing and trying to work out what the latest letter from the water board means Grin Sadly DH is no Dick Strawbridge, and we have had some proper cock-ups, but it's all fun none the less.

Pootles34 · 01/03/2019 12:22

Love it! They're both so clever, and work so bloody hard, and really complement each other.

A few thoughts - I think they have a lot more help behind the scenes, where the hell do the children go whilst they're working like horses, and also, how does he get any food past that tache!?

Spotsbeforemyeyes · 01/03/2019 13:46

pootles34 that's a good point. And about what goes on behind the scenes.

Anyone watching the update?

brotown · 14/07/2019 22:03

Love it, but disappointed with new series if it’s just rehashing everything they’ve done. I’ll still watch though!

GettickledGETTICKLEDbyspiders · 14/07/2019 22:06

I thought the same thing. Hmm
I wanted to see more new stuff

didireallysaythat · 14/07/2019 22:09

I like it but I can't help thinking about Dick's first family, kids and wife on the green living series. I liked that one more - it was practicality over cost!

brotown · 15/07/2019 17:51

I need them both in my house, just a couple of months. They’d get more done that I could in a year!

roisinagusniamh · 17/07/2019 14:34

I love it too but (flame and grilling coming my way)..... both Dick and Angel need to lose weight and watch that Arthur doesn't end up as fat as them too.

GettickledGETTICKLEDbyspiders · 17/07/2019 21:53

We thought that too. I think Angel has lost weight recently.
I would also eat more if I lived among all that cheese and bread Smile

Deathraystare · 20/07/2019 06:50

Yes I really enjoywd it.

I was looking online at beddig and Angel has some stuff out.

Theyellowsquare · 20/07/2019 06:54

I preferred Its hard being Green with his first wife to be honest Grin

Deathraystare · 20/07/2019 07:00

Well, yes I enjoyed that too (and his son James!!!)

roisinagusniamh · 20/07/2019 07:27

Wonder why Dick's first marriage ended.
Have you seen his mother and sisters .....they look like walking heart attack time bombs!

rockingthelook · 20/07/2019 22:02

Love Angel, her books are just a thing of beauty
