Because it's in the script for them to go to the laundrette. Just like it's in the script that they must eat in the cafe, buy clothes, fruit/veg etc from the stalls and drink in the pub every night.

Must admit it's always annoyed me that they don't have their own washing machines, think of the money they could have all saved over the years if they'd bought their own.

I don't even watch Eastenders anymore btw.

Hmmm, I thought the same thing the other day. Makes you wonder whether you should get out more, doesn't it?

I have a washing machine and still go to the launderette sometimes when the volume of washing I have to do overwhelms me.

Really?

Yes. I get a service wash (or 3) - then it means I don't have to spend all weekend shoving washes in and hanging them out!

This is a temporary measure as we don't have a dryer at the momentc

But have you also noticed that everyone can get their favorite shirt, dress etc done at on a service wash, and Pauline always has time and they never pay!!!!

I think there are bigger problems in Eastenders than washing machines, like people sleeping with their close family, shooting their partners, having theirs mothers, uncles children etc etc etc

Would you want to live there

Spencer is so vile I think it will take more than a nice shirt to sort him out

Report

maybe they're on water meters & spend the cash they save in the washeteria, because Mr Oppodopoulus has a stranglehold over the community (in a way in which Andy could only dream about) and they're too scared not to buy into Pauline's wash n tumble special.
Spencer is so dull I cannot even get annoyed by him, cd.
kareena's (?sp) new makeover equally dull if slightly more glamorous. only slightly interesting characters at the moment are minty, ian beale (!) and sonia

btw - whose house have that new family moved into? i didn't recognise the decor..

maybe its because sharons kitchen is upstairs and to have a washing machine fitted would cost a fortune in plumbers, so they use the laundrette insttead

(actually I gave up eastenders about 6 months ago and so I don't really know any more!)

If Dennis Rickman doesn't move you, bundle, no-one will.

well, I thought he was pretty hot until his character went to pot a bit. also miss the sharon affair, that was pretty torrid.

Has anybody had a go at this?

eastenders scriptwriter

It might take a minute or two to load but be patient, it's a good laugh and you can post links so that other people can read your script. We all got addicted to it.

stopped watching Eastenders a long time ago, and thank god I did if Ian Beale is now one of the more interesting characters .

willhave to give that a go anorak.. thanks

eastenders is the best you get on bbcprime so i take what i can get - though can´t say that i am a regular devotee and you can always keep up with things on the bbc website or another one that has advance previews when i can´t be bothered watching

has Mr Oppodopoulus ever been seen? he is always on the phone, they have a lot of respect for someone who sits on his arse and never visits his business

good point there flywoman... also that black dude is has been a regular extra for years... i believe he actually spoke once!

Is that the older one Papillon? Look at the other "bit parts" as dp calls them (extras). They are everywhere, find one particular one to look at and he or she will appear in almost every scene. Me and dp are bored with the story lines so we look out for the bit parts and see how badly they do their little bit of mimeing in the back ground. Who are the new family anyway, I can see them really getting on my nerves especially the dad, terrible actor!
