I thought I would make a new thread quickly seeing that the first one is nearly full

My DH has a linen jacket. Bought last year in lidl. Not worth making one.

BitOfFun · 19/03/2019 21:08

I haven't tried clothes myself, but I love sewing quilts- this is the first full-size one I made, for my eldest daughter's 21st birthday. I did bite off a bit more than I could chew with the design, but it was a real learning curve.

Thank you Fuzzy , BofF and Schaden 🤣

I like the look of this linen jacket.

Wolfcub · 19/03/2019 21:09

That’s beautiful BoF

dontcallmelen · 19/03/2019 21:09

Hasell your shirt is brilliant.

dontcallmelen · 19/03/2019 21:10

Also beautiful BoF

Halsall · 19/03/2019 21:10

Thanks dillite , great that you're getting one of the 'Patterns of Fashion' books - they're utterly fascinating.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 19/03/2019 21:11

That is gorgeous BoF - and I do like the idea of a mantelpiece bed head - very original!

FuzzyPuffling · 19/03/2019 21:11

So much talent here. Patrick ought to make a visit. Oh and Esme too.

dontcallmelen · 19/03/2019 21:11

Dh got a couple of linen jackets from Primark a few years ago for £20.00 each, still going strong.

Ladycsparkles · 19/03/2019 21:11

That quilt is beautiful 😍

I made a very small quilt last year for my DD dolls cot

I've never made anything with sleeves before, they terrify me!

Ooo history bit, really like these bits

dillite · 19/03/2019 21:12

BoF I am in awe of that quilt! It is magnificent. I bet you now feel like you can do anything now having made that quilt.

There is no comparison between a homemade custom fitted item and a jacket from Lidl!

My prediction is that Juliette will struggle with this.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 19/03/2019 21:13

How can you bleach with urine?

One of our dogs pisses on things all the time, and they go yellow!

FuzzyPuffling · 19/03/2019 21:13

Ladyc, I think sleeves are actually easier than facings.

dontcallmelen · 19/03/2019 21:13

This is making my head hurt, it’s just seems soooo complicated.

Halsall · 19/03/2019 21:13

Lovely quilt, BofF !

Did you do the crochet rippple as well? (Attic 24??)

FuzzyPuffling · 19/03/2019 21:14

Ooof, Fancy, that's harsh! My DH looks fab in his lidl special.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 19/03/2019 21:14

Oh, Leah!

You are swearing like a docker!

How I love you! Grin

FuzzyPuffling · 19/03/2019 21:16

Oh Janet, the wrong sleeves. Like the Wrong Trousers but less plasticine.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 19/03/2019 21:17

My mum did the crochet- she's made some beautiful things. I have overlocker envy from this thread, but what I'm really coveting is a long-arm quilting machine, so I don't have to wrangle huge quilts through the 11" throat space of my domestic sewing machine. They take up a lot of space though.

Has anybody here got their own sewing room? I think they are an excellent antidote to Empty Nest Syndrome Grin

dillite · 19/03/2019 21:18

Leah's collar is dodgy
