I would totally wear Mercedes' dress. Bless her.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 12/03/2019 21:58

I hadn't noticed the pattern - and now it's all I can think of . . .

TheSassyAssassin · 12/03/2019 21:58

Right choice. Def time for her to go. Seems like a lovely lady though Smile

FuzzyPuffling · 12/03/2019 21:59

Schady would you like some of mine? I've plenty going spare.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 12/03/2019 21:59

I haven't got any side boob

Not to worry, Schaden, sounds like there's enough on this thread to go round. 😁

SchadenfreudePersonified · 12/03/2019 21:59

I agree dillite

If Riccardo had made it . . .

SoupDragon · 12/03/2019 21:59

I think Juliet's deserved GOTW over Riccardo.

dillite · 12/03/2019 21:59

Oh gosh, I hate tailoring. I just can not crack putting jacket lining in.

The ad at the bottom of my page is for carpet cleaning. For Joe's shorts?

SchadenfreudePersonified · 12/03/2019 22:01

Well - that's it for a week.

I'm off to sharpen my pizza wheel and find some old ballgowns and loose settee covers, and sew myself a complete summer wardrobe before next week.

FuzzyPuffling · 12/03/2019 22:01

See you soon lovely Waspies.

Fontella · 12/03/2019 22:02

I'm sorry but once again I preferred Riccardo's to Juliet's.

It must come down to the actual sewing up close, the construction because on design I feel he beats her hands down every time. That lace curtain dress was horrible, a net curtain kerchief effect over turquoise with a lace up back. It's like something you'd buy on one of those fetish websites.

Much preferred his dress, but I guess it just wasn't as well sewn.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 12/03/2019 22:03

Ta ta for now, I'll be hovering around random threads till we meet again.

dontcallmelen · 12/03/2019 22:04

Eyes up soft furnishings around the house, gathers up all the kitchen utensils, see what I can knock up by next week.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 12/03/2019 22:04

I thought Juliette's was stunning - just the colour contrasts caught the eye - however, I much preferred Riccardo's. It was smart and stylish, and you could actually wear it.

dontcallmelen · 12/03/2019 22:06

Yy the colours of Juliette was pretty, which made it standout but Ricardo dress was actually really wearable.

SoMuchToBits · 12/03/2019 22:13

Hello all, have now finished watching tonight's episode (can't type and watch at same time!)

I actually liked Juliet's stuff tonight (although also liked Riccardo's and think he is a great character).

It was interesting doing the recycling theme. I use leftover fabric to make clothes for my sister's teddy bears!

SileneOliveira · 13/03/2019 08:39

Just caught up with last night's and agree with the general consensus that Riccardo was ROBBED.

Also Mercedes deserved to go - yet again not following instructions. The judges were clear that the blouse should be made from GARMENTS, not a duvet cover. She listened to them criticising her choice yet ploughed on regardless. And her transformation thing was a dog's dinner.

I loved the ethos of the whole episode though, fast fashion is a real environmental disaster and getting people to look at old textiles as potential fabric is a great idea. OK, so I wouldn't have used Leah's blinds to make a dress, but it would have made great cushion covers, or a bag.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 13/03/2019 09:42

Isn't Mercedes the one who had a career in bomb disposal? How is she not scattered into hundreds of pieces across a war zone with her inability to follow the detail of instructions?

It should have been Riccardo for garment of the week. It was a beautiful dress and a perfect fit on his model. All that folding and tucking could have looked horrendous in a heavier curtain fabric, but it was graceful and flowing.

FuzzyPuffling · 13/03/2019 10:17

Ok, here is my recycling effort, (made from a 28 year old skirt) finished yesterday in homage to the Wasps. In my defence, it fits me better than Mrs Woman (the mannequin) but you're not getting a picture of me!

That's pretty Fuzzy, really well done.

angstinabaggyjumper · 13/03/2019 10:37

HA! Finally everyone else sees what I see, Riccardo undervalued and underrated every single episode and even when his dress had come second he is mentioned as a candidate for leaving!
Also why oh why didn't they even mention that Julliette's bodice had the very large pattern skew whiff?
Love it though.

Frenchfancy · 13/03/2019 11:15

Really nice Fuzzy

TheSassyAssassin · 13/03/2019 11:18

Very pretty Fuzzy and perfect for summer! Smile

SchadenfreudePersonified · 13/03/2019 11:21

That's rather nice Puffling
