The pic is of two layers of scuba btw - in case that isn't clear.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 05/03/2019 22:01

Well, that's is girls - I'll see you next week, but obviously will be on the Masterchef threads for ritual abuse of the Gurning Grocer, so doubtless I'll meet up with some of you there.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 05/03/2019 22:02

I'm not sure about Patrick's jacket next week though.

I also have my doubts campervan

Heel pads for loose boots. Hence very rough and ready and carefully angled shot to hide the stains.

BitOfFun · 05/03/2019 22:07

Thanks for the company- and here is Monkseal on 1970s week to gently come down.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 05/03/2019 22:11

Already on Fun about 5/6 pages ago.

SoMuchToBits · 05/03/2019 22:37

Hello! I'm a late arrival to this thread, having just caught up with the Great British Sewing Wasp.

I'm a very amateur sewer (I make a few of my own clothes) but noting like as skilled as the contestants. Just enjoying the whole programme, as really missed it not being on last year.

megletthesecond · 05/03/2019 22:55

Aawww, I wanted Riccardo's tracksuit to be outfit of the week. He got those stripes spot on.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 06/03/2019 08:28

Great British Sewing Wasp.

I wanted Riccardo, too Meglet

Life is full of disappointments. Sad

FuzzyPuffling · 06/03/2019 10:23

Hello SoMuch..I love the "Sewing Wasp"!

BitOfFun · 06/03/2019 12:50

Ah, sorry, Schaden- I missed joining in with episode two as I had to watch it on catch-up.

PrivateIsles · 06/03/2019 13:07

Another good episode, but they missed a trick by not using real dog models! Although I guess that could have led to a Blue Peter elephant type moment!

Riccardo's tracksuit was amazing. He should definitely have won outfit of the week.

Have been watching some old episodes on one of the sky channels as well. Patrick really puts me in mind of former Midsomer Murders sidekick DS Ben Jones (Jason Hughes)...

Howzaboutye · 06/03/2019 13:58

Wow I think Patrick touches the models' bodies faaaar too much.
Bit surprised about that.

I loved the swimsuit challenge as making my own one is on my sewing to do list.
I know what I'm letting myself in for!

But, bless, one of the men saying "what is powermesh" big lols at that.

Cocolepew · 06/03/2019 14:50

I've never noticed Patrick touching too much Confused and I look at him very carefully.

CaptainMyCaptain · 06/03/2019 15:12

Name changed for the Archers thread. Gok Wan likes a fondle too. My DH thinks he's not really gay.

Haven't watched this week's Bee yet but already know who has left as I follow them all on instagram.

SileneOliveira · 06/03/2019 15:16

Just caught up with last night's episode. That swimsuit challenge was EVIL, no wonder so many of them struggled badly with it. It's totally out of the comfort zone for even experienced dressmakers so the ones who did well - Juliet, Janet, Jen - really showed how good they are.

Not keen on the doggy fashion, I'm with Riccardo.

Next week looks great though, one of my most favourite aspects of the Sewing Bee is that it encourages reusing, repurposing old fabrics and recycling. It's something which Patrick tweets about a lot too.

CaptainMyCaptain · 06/03/2019 16:15

I'd love to have a go at that swimsuit.

Also love, love, love Winston.

Howzaboutye · 06/03/2019 16:48

The dog was v cute.
What was even cuter was Patrick talking to it in his 'I'm talking to a little cute dog' voice!

Fontella · 06/03/2019 17:18

I think I fall a little more in love with Patrick every episode. Not only is he gorgeous to look at, but he's so much more relaxed and open than he was on the earlier series. I thought he was a bit of a posey clothes horse back than, one of those snotty fashion types, but he's just a lovely, lovely man.

Enjoyed last night's although I think Ricardo was robbed on the track suit and I really, really liked his doggy outfit. If you took away the handles (I cracked up when he put posed with them as a shoulder bag) the actual outfit was really funky (and funny).

His tracksuit also was a masterpiece of design and he sewed it really well.

They are a lovely bunch, Joe Lycett gets better with each passing week and it's just wonderful feel-good telly. I wish they'd bring back the Pottery Throw Down with the giant crying judge man (can't remember his name).

Howzaboutye · 06/03/2019 18:15

Fontella I totally agree with you on everything there!

He is more relaxed, he and Esme get on well.

Though I got May Martin's book out of the library and it is terrific. It is the beginners sewing book for sure.

I love that Joe is into clothes, he is great.

Backseatonthebus · 06/03/2019 18:20

Joining in with the Patrick love, but did he have his tie tucked in his trousers this week? Surely not Shock

Fontella · 06/03/2019 18:26

He seems to be on a bit of a retro thing - the professor look - Oxford bag trousers and yes, the tie tucked in.

That's what I think I love about him - he's got his own look and I definitely think Patrick's style pays homage to the past. Classic, conservative, but always beautifully tailored.

iklboo · 06/03/2019 19:10

Anyone else think Jen looks a bit like Maxine Peake's older sister?
