New thread for donkey fans...

Donkeys On Ice are getting good!
OP posts:
GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 11/03/2019 00:42

Wow I wouldn't have guessed. I thought I'd read something about Dean being a bit of a control freak/arse but I've never really heard much about Jane.

PrincessScarlett · 11/03/2019 11:09

I have also read that it's Christopher Dean who is the nasty one!

I do love how in tune they still are together when skating. Agree they skate as one and it looks effortless.

Inkanta · 11/03/2019 12:02

Agree they skate as one and it looks effortless.

Yes when 2 become 1 Smile Still see them as a couple that should have got married and lived happily ever after. I always think she would have if he'd been willing. I can't possibly know of course.

Elderflower14 · 11/03/2019 13:37

Arg was dropping huge hints on GMB this morning that he wants to do DOI next year.... Hmm
Don't think there will be many female dancers rubbing their hands with glee at the prospect!!

PrincessScarlett · 11/03/2019 13:58

He's dropping hints everywhere! Apparently he's going to get fit first.

FuzzyPuffling · 11/03/2019 18:06

Ha ha..Tortilla and Beans!!!

Why did my post get deleted??

I haven't received a message or an email from mumsnet telling me why. Did someone report me for something?

soupforbrains · 12/03/2019 15:29

Can't actually remember what I said though, so it would be good to know.

From the general conversation I guess it was something about Jayne Torville.

I think that Chris was perhaps not very nice to Jayne when they were training way back. But every time I've met them (both singley and together) he has been lovely, supportive, and constructive. Whereas she was not. Maybe she's mellowed in her older years, I've not seen her for several years, but whenever I see her on screen it just makes me wince/my inner rage boils, at the memories of workshops/masterclasses with her.

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 12/03/2019 16:53

An avid Torville fan probably, it will have been deemed libelous (not by me, I rarely report anything and found your statement interesting but MN are notoriously sensitive about certain posts - I think you can say how you found a person to be or the sleb twaddle type 'name a celeb you liked/hated when you met them' couldn't exist, but you cannot accuse them of causing something cough eating disorders
cough without proof.

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 12/03/2019 16:55
Wink
FuzzyPuffling · 12/03/2019 17:38

Not me. I only ever report people for ageist nonsense of the "Old women are all dreadful drivers and should be banned from the age of 50" type stuff.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 12/03/2019 18:21

Not me either soup but now I really want to know what you said!

iklboo · 12/03/2019 18:46

I heard this was going to be Gemma's routine on Sunday but she'd lost a French tip. Grin

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 12/03/2019 22:59

Wow! That routine is inhuman. Absolutely amazing.

soupforbrains · 13/03/2019 10:42

GrinI've never come a cropper not he ole censorship front before. Such fun.

Clearly I must have said something on my experiences with JT and something about the prevalence of eating disorders in the figure skating world.

I suppose to someone who isn't me and doesn't have my experiences it may have seemed like an unsubstantiated allegation so probs best it got taken down.

I mean, it wasn't libel, but I can't afford a lawyer 😂

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 14/03/2019 12:42

Wow iklboo what a lovely routine.

I seem to remember (experts will no doubt correct me) that what T&D did that was special was connecting with the music and telling a story. Before that it was a bit like women's gymnastics is now, the music sort of went on in the background but wasn't particularly referenced in the routine. Suddenly they looked like dancers as much as skaters. John Curry was the same, very balletic and graceful.

PrincessScarlett · 14/03/2019 13:16

Soup, you made a direct link between JT and 3 of your friends having eating disorders so it didn't paint JT in a very good light. Although I'm surprised it was deleted as loads of other celebs have been spoken about in a much harsher way on here and posts haven't been deleted.

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 14/03/2019 19:12

There have been far far worse things said about people - Mick Hucknall, Jamie Oliver, Katie Hopkins etc Sometimes a whole thread gets pulled as 'not being in the spirit' but on sleb twaddle threads moderation seems more lax. Somebody must love JT Wink

ellenanora5 · 19/03/2019 07:38

Oh brilliant, I'm thrilled James won, I haven't watched yet but I will during the week, have loads of telly to catch up on, it was great fun on the threads, catch you all next time around or on MC threads Grin

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 21/03/2019 18:41

Is anyone watching the World Figure Skating Championships on the red button? Smile

iklboo · 21/03/2019 18:44

WHAT??!!! WHERE? WHEN?

Bloody kept that quiet didn't they? Sodding fubble is advertised every ten flipping minutes!

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 21/03/2019 20:33

Indeed! It only started today - so far only the pairs freestyle has been judged.

Tomorrow it's women's free skate at 8:15am until 12:50pm and recapped (?) in the afternoon 2:40pm-7pm.

here

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 21/03/2019 20:35

Both on red button. More coverage of men's, women's, pairs and ice dance on Saturday and Sunday Smile
