Mrs M - classic, also a Grange Hill watcher.

I recognised Lucy Speed - those were the heydays of Easties!!

Al stuff is really boring now and he walked into that bloody bus cos he was looking at his ridiculous toy!!

Smotheroffive · 21/02/2019 15:10

Oh thanks told!! One of those annoying 'omg WHO is that'. Just couldn't place him at all. Yes was friend of the tilsley lad.

Smotheroffive · 21/02/2019 15:11

...and Al, well, will remain a loner, and deserves to. He was nice, briefly, showed glints of promise, but basically narc nerd.

FuzzyPuffling · 21/02/2019 16:45

smother Great description of Al!

Meet0nTheledge · 21/02/2019 19:32

Just read through the thread, will be watching later. Has anybody been watching Back In Time for School? In the 80s episode they showed them Grange Hill and Todd Carty dropped by for a chat, it was properly nostalgic.

Smotheroffive · 21/02/2019 21:37

I did catch one of them.last week doing comps in the 70's, during g the time they withdrew the cane!

Meet0nTheledge · 21/02/2019 23:40

Well, Al's blown it there, silly arse. He's frustrating, one minute I like him, the next I'm cringing for him.

Mrs Mcluskey/Natalie story was nice in the end, even if Eesh did overstep the mark. Library story is BAH.

I remember Graeme Proctor, he was David Platt's cell mate in prison, he was a good character. I watched Corrie for about 25 years and gave up about two years ago, it was a shadow of its former great self.

toldmywrath · 22/02/2019 07:58

Meet I remember Graeme, he was a good guy. I gave up on Corrie quite a few years ago. I'm watching classic Corrie now, it's so much better. They knew how to do humour and drama so well.

I've seen a bit of the back in time for school. I was at secondary in the seventies. I was never caned, but the boys used to get the slipper or we had chalk thrown at us. ( I never saw the chalk eraser thing thrown though)

I think the worst part was changing in pe. Especially once puberty struck. Apart from that I loved school.

I loved the 80s Back in Time... was v nostalgic. Although schools are much better now (my kids go to my old school which then was pretty bad, but now highly regarded).

Meet0nTheledge · 22/02/2019 08:32

I was at secondary school in the early 80s. But primary school was where we had the board rubber thrown at us, got smacked on the bottom, individuals singled out for piss-taking by the teacher. Also the cane for boys and slipper for girls.

MadisonAvenue · 22/02/2019 13:10

I started secondary school in 1980 and have strong memories of the board rubber flying through the air frequently. Teachers had a bloody good aim back then didn't they?!

Meet0nTheledge · 22/02/2019 13:48

It's the big tap again. Does anyone have a crappy kitchen in Letherbridge?
