Raahh - so sorry to hear about your DS - I've been there with my DC (close to being sectioned) so I have an idea of what your going through. (Do PM me if you want to).

Back to Tennis - so very sad to hear about Stan's loss............ NOT!

Deep joy in the magimedi camp - DOWN with Bear

Raahh · 17/04/2019 08:44

kazzaD66 · 17/04/2019 11:33

Aahh, poor Stan! Kick a Bear when he's down, magi Grin

Hope things get better for you and yours Raahh

Btw, did you see the video Andy posted of him playing golf for the first time in 6 years with no pain? Even if he doesn't return to tennis, at least he seems to have a much better quality of life now.

PrivateIsles · 17/04/2019 11:53

Ooh match point for Herbert against Keith Shock

PrivateIsles · 17/04/2019 11:57

Well well well, he's won it. Keith would have to be disappointed with that. Looks like Pierre's decision to concentrate on singles more is a good one so far.

kazza I saw Andy's video - nice to see. Yes just even in his normal life, it must be amazing for him to be pain-free.

PrivateIsles · 17/04/2019 12:08

Zverev v Felix AA next. You'd think Zverev would be v keen to win that one.

Sam is wearing a nice polka dot blazer.

PrivateIsles · 17/04/2019 12:10

The boys are out on court. Zverev looks like he has The Fear watch him now win in straight sets

PrivateIsles · 17/04/2019 12:50

So yeah as I thought Grin 6-1 Zverev
FAA has only won 7 points!

Monte Carlo looking gorgeous in the sun.

PrivateIsles · 17/04/2019 13:22

Ooh it's quite good this now. Some great rallies. It's nice to see a bit of clay court tennis Smile

PrivateIsles · 17/04/2019 13:56

Here comes Rafa Smile

Predictable win for Zverev earlier Grin

Fizzywinegum · 17/04/2019 14:22

I want to watch Rafa but I’m at work Sad. Does he look nice? Is he still sporting the napkin look?

PrivateIsles · 17/04/2019 14:55
Grin Indeed he does look nice! No napkins in sight - he's wearing a turquoise sort of top with sleeves, an orangey headband and white shorts.
PrivateIsles · 17/04/2019 15:25

Convincing win for Rafa there. Looked really good, and Busta Gut is decent on clay.

PS in more Rafa sartorial news, his shorts had a turquoise and orange coordinating stripe - v fetching!

Raahh · 17/04/2019 15:26

I went to my mum's and missed everything.

Glad to see Rafa won easily!

Fizzywinegum · 17/04/2019 15:27

Ooh sounds good Private hopefully they will show some highlights but who knows with Amazon Prime.

I was going to say that he looked to be doing well but didn’t want to tempt fate Grin but I’ve seen the final score now.

Raahh · 17/04/2019 15:29

I do like Monte Carlo, it's definitely one of the best looking venues.

PrivateIsles · 17/04/2019 15:37

Yes the whole thing was looking very easy on the eye!

I just went to bring the washing in and missed Rafa's interview - that'll teach me.

Raahh · 17/04/2019 17:00

I've just seen Herbert's result against Nishikori- he really is picking up some good singles results lately, to back up his doubles career. I was expecting Keith to do quite well at MC- clay is really one of his best surfaces.

PrivateIsles · 17/04/2019 17:06

Yes, he (Pierre) was quite clinical Raahh which I wasn't expecting. I think he's either stopped or is taking a break from doubles isn't he - something to do with the Olympics/singles rankings or something. I can't remember now. Not sure what Mahut is up to in the meantime.

PrivateIsles · 17/04/2019 17:08

PS yes I was surprised about Keith, I would have expected him to do a lot better. It must be a bit of a disadvantage getting a bye into the second round sometimes. PHH had already beaten Verdasco in the first round, so he was probably in the groove, whereas it was Keith's first match on clay.

Raahh · 17/04/2019 17:16

Well, Mahut is retiring (has retired? ) so makes sense if Herbert's scaled back his doubles. The Olympics only allow the top 4 from each country to qualify (I could have just completely made that up, but hey, it sounds good Grin) and there are a lot of French players.

I agree that sometimes the bye can be be a disadvantage- even Novak had had extra 'practice' as it were, with his doubles match - even if he lost.

I'm not convinced by Djok's form of late- I wonder how he will get on in his next match?

PrivateIsles · 17/04/2019 17:28

Yes it was something to do with that top 4 (sounds right to me Grin) being eligible for singles; and he was saying if he doesn't do it now, he won't have another chance or something like that.

I have didn't know Mahut was retiring, but I guess he has been around forever.

I wonder about Djok as well. He had that kind of annoyed look yesterday and the racquet smashing etc. So perhaps he's not really feeling it ATM?

Raahh · 17/04/2019 17:53

Ok, now I'm confusedGrin

I know I read after they won RG last year, that he was retiring . Maybe it's just from singles- because I've just read an article from after they won the doubles in Aus, and he said he had his eye on Olympics gold with PHH- and had no plans to retire! Grin.

PrivateIsles · 17/04/2019 18:23

Grin he's toying with us Raahh! I love Mahut and he and PHH are such a good doubles pairing, so I hope he doesn't retire and they get back together!! But it's also good to see Pierre doing well in singles.

PrivateIsles · 17/04/2019 18:30

PS if Dimitrov loses to Rafa tomorrow, he will drop out of the top 40!!!

I'm shocked at that. I know he hasn't had great results lately by any stretch. But that is not good.
