Not many storylines apart from

Where is Alfie - tho do we care

Will Phil kill Alfie if he finds him

Will Phil kill shazza or keanu when he finds out about the affair. And he will find out

Will Kat run off with Alfie and cherry

Will Kathy ever come back

What’s wrong with raine

Will munter and MEL return?

And I say this every time but bobby new head must be coming back soon

ILoveMaxiBondi · 11/02/2019 21:13

definitely not pregnant btw.

iknowimcoming · 11/02/2019 21:14

Her gp has made her urgent appointments for scans etc but jean isn't going to go as her family need her Sad

The80sweregreat · 11/02/2019 21:16

Oh good she isn't pregnant but sad that she's poorly. I know she's annoying but a cancer story is always hard/ sad.
( assuming cancer )
I'm at the end of ' star' it's nearly over ( think god)

ILoveMaxiBondi · 11/02/2019 21:16

She’s going to bury her head in the sand isnt she? She won’t tell anyone.

The80sweregreat · 11/02/2019 21:17

Max, they always ' go it alone' with bad news. Soap law.

The80sweregreat · 11/02/2019 21:33

The elderly detective looks familiar! Who is she?

ILoveMaxiBondi · 11/02/2019 21:36

I don’t think I can cope with another hidden cancer storyline in soapland. Corrie have just done it (appallingly) and now jean.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 11/02/2019 22:03

Yes the first law in soap land is to never tell your husband/relatives that you have been diagnosed with cancer, second law is always to refuse treatment that could cure you , (Tanya, Dot, Pat to name but a few,) and is it my imagination or is it only women who are ever diagnosed with cancer in soaps?

The80sweregreat · 11/02/2019 22:16

Men rarely get cancer on soaps do they? Ian or mas having prostate or testicular cancer would be a different take on things maybe?
Men's health is as important.
Mind you, Arthur and Kush have a heart complaint that's never mentioned!

meow1989 · 11/02/2019 22:19

Cherrys done a Benjamin button, she's about 2 months younger than last week!

Poor Jean though.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 11/02/2019 22:20

Alfie had a bad a brain tumour but annoyingly he survived. Linda and Carol also had/hid cancer.

youarenotkiddingme · 11/02/2019 22:49

I though baby cherry looked smaller too! And what's with the Kat leopard print?

youarenotkiddingme · 11/02/2019 22:52

I am worried it'll be a cancer storyline with jean. I'm not sure how I'll manage to watch as my mum has cancer. Hers is complicated but it's in peritoneum and ovaries (but has cancer if unknown primary). It's not cureable. Just treatable. She's just had 2 lots of chemo in 2 years and may well be starting a trial. Well she was accepted on trial but now has blot clot in her lung so it's a waiting game πŸ™ˆ

meow1989 · 11/02/2019 22:53

Sorry to hear about your mum @yourenotkiddingme Flowers

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 11/02/2019 22:57

Yes Linda and Carol did have cancer, I forgot about them,
and they both also hid it from their families and refused treatment Hmm

SlipperOrchid · 12/02/2019 01:19

So sorry to hear about your mum yourenotkiddingme

I hope it isn't a storyline about cancer too. EE is not based on 'real life' situations so it always baffles me when they constantly include illnesses. I turn on EE to escape and constantly doing storylines about cancer is upsetting for viewers.

Ted's flat looks messy now although the longer they are using it to hang out, the more likely it is to get messy. What was on the drug leader's wrists? Is she being abused herself? Is that why she is pushing the others to sell more drugs?

The80s did A Star is Born get any better? I switched it off half way through and keep meaning to get back to it but only in the hope that it has to get better. Everyone I spoke to about it warned me to have tissues ready as its so emotional. I feel like I must be hard as nails like Phil Mitchell himself as I didn't think the (first half of) film was emotional at all. Just long. Very long.

Ottercup · 12/02/2019 01:45

Well done Kat, scared Hayley off.

The80sweregreat · 12/02/2019 06:27

Slipper, the film started off ok but the second half dragged on and on. I started looking up Mumsnet, a sign that my attention was wandering. Gaga can sing but the songs were boring. Just my opinion though ; I'm in the minority, I think most people love it. I've never seen the other versions.

Youare, sorry to read about your mum. Really awful news. Thinking of you.
I hope they do this story line sensitively on EE. So many people fighting this disease.

Akire · 12/02/2019 09:09

It does seem rushed. We had few hot flushes and feeling sick then sometimes the doctors she talked about feeling full which got my alarms going. Though suppose you could just put all signs down to meapsuse then to late.

Sorry about your mum, hope you can still keep watching.

You are right about the men and cancer they always just seem to have heart attacks instead. Think the must used baby Abi at 13m for some scenes and now cherry is back to normal. Silly as Kat made haley come back because she couldn’t cope then few days later everyone will help instead. Poor Haley might have felt up to it in time.

The80sweregreat · 12/02/2019 11:26

Tanya went it alone with her illness.
Carol fell out with her ex as he wanted her to have breast reconstruction after her op but originally she also hid her diagnoses.its a thing on soaps.

FizzyOrange · 12/02/2019 13:08

Poor Jean, I really felt for her in last night's episode.

I found it very unsettling that Kat should tell Hayley that she needs to 'get herself better' really because she couldn't cope even though she has loads of adult help - would you really say that to a hospital patient who had had say a heart operation? It is no different.

I am disappointed that Evie is back - such a breath of fresh air last week without the silly drug story.

youarenotkiddingme so sorry about your mum Flowers

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/02/2019 13:56

@kiddingme. Sorry about your mum

Yes seems to be woman apart from Alfie

Poor Jean

Wonder where Hayley is hiding out if hospital know where she is but not saying

So ray has been found after 6w almost after dying

Will hunter and MEL get away with it?

OP posts:
The80sweregreat · 12/02/2019 14:33

I wonder if Mel and hunter will get away with this? How they will wrap it up will be interesting. She can't drug him up forever!

Mrs spam would go mad if she saw her flat now! I hope Evie gets her comeuppance soon and Tiff sees sense and stops Dennis getting too involved with them all.

youarenotkiddingme · 12/02/2019 17:27

Thanks everyone. My Mum is actually fairly well atm. She's doing great. But I know what the future will hold when it takes over. Watching it (or even watching unrealistic recoveries) will be hard.

But despite how much EE drives me nuts at times I'll carry on watching and then mining about it πŸ˜‚

The80sweregreat · 12/02/2019 17:33

Glad your sticking with us youare.
Sometimes just having a laugh on here at the comments about EE or just keeping up with the plots can help take your mind off things for a while. Let us know how she's getting on though. Wish her well.

I bet Jean is another ' I'm ok, nowt up with me , I'll miss all the appointments ' rather than tell her daughter or other family what's going on and getting help etc. Lazy writing really isn't it? You would tell people in real life.
