It was a weird episode, i think that Jay was out of order for telling all to Ken, but then Ruby did tell Stacey the ' gory details' as well! admittedly not in the middle of the square. She was also rude to Jay when she could tell he was with clients and she knows what he does for a living, so doubly bad.

Ken was playing Louise along the whole time and that is also unforgivable, but the type of thing a young man would do i guess ( if only to get them to have consensual sex with them!) he is only 19 etc etc. Not good, but that felt realistic to me. if only to show how warped his mind is about the whole thing.
I can see Sharon falling for his dubious charms again though. she has ' feelings' for him still and the whole love triangle will become messier. Lou will go mad if she finds out, her and Phil will tear them to shreds!! lol. Sharon needs to watch out really.

What age is Ruby meant to be? She is the daughter of a gangster, she worked and partied hard before arriving back in the square. She has a babyish voice full of wonder and is now acting like someone who is still living with their parents at home......it doesn't add up at all. I know that something terrible happened to her and she is angry and hitting back at being treated badly but.......would she really have total inexperience at dealing with somebody like Jay on a first date? Has she really never had anybody around for dinner before? Ever? Presumably she travelled and managed perfectly well on her own up until her return to the square?

Is it supposed to highlight the difference between her and Stacey? Stacey has had four? children by now with three? different dads, is running a very large household (I presume she is the one organising payment of bills?), she has married, widowed, married again, shagged around with her father in law, been to hospital, been a semi stepmother to Lauren, given advice to people on the square, looked after her mum, been mentally unwell herself, ran a market stall (although somehow she has NEVER helped Martin with the fruit stall) .....she's some woman for one woman and is 30/35ish???

Ken is 25 in real life- making him around 21 would have worked better - i doubt that any 19 year old would be interested in a 48 year old, however glam or worldly wise she is. i guess they couldnt make him too old as Karen isnt that old herself. it is all a bit silly.
I think that the writers just want Ruby to be ' cute' i suppose - new to the town again, getting over a recent trauma, really liking Jay and getting back into dating again etc. i suppose it wont last.

Agree ken doesn’t pass for 19. It’s like when joey in friends tries to pass for 19 not gonna happen! They should have made ken the age is his IRL. That’s how old he looks and behaves.

The actor who plays Keegan is twenty in real life but easily passes for seventeen/eighteen.

The actress who plays Louise is too old to play somebody Louise’s age too. She and Keanu both look mid twenties.

Ruby looks (and sounds) about seventeen too. Stacey looks and sounds old enough to be her mother!

Jay is also nearly 25 in real life : he has young features!
