Am a bit behind and watching Rachel's leaving do but Elsa really irritates the crap out of me. All she bloody does is whinge and she's so thick that she knows absolutely nothing about anything

Just discovered this now on ITV 3. Didn’t really watch Emmerdale much in the 90s. Although I do remember the plane crash, I was only about 10/11 at the time. Has this happened yet?
What yer is it now? I’m guessing early 90s, judging by the clothes and cars.

Plane crash was 93, we are in 92

Seth "losing" his memory has tickled me.
I don't remember Carol from before but she's great!
Does anyone else think that other than the hair, Sarah and Lynn look alike?
Was there only one episode on yesterday, or did my Sky box not record one of them?

Yes, there was only one episode yesterday. It totally threw me. Back to two today.

JediJim

Plane crash hasn't happened yet - it was 30.12.1993 - although I am not sure where we are at the mo, maybe the end of 1992?

There was only one episode yesterday as ITV3 screened the first Downton Abbey episode which was 90 minutes long so they needed to steal 30 minutes from somewhere hence only one episode of Emmerdale, and it will happen again when they screen the future Downton Xmas specials etc..

They could have only shown 1 episode of Classic Corrie which has reached the silly stage and I've actually stopped watching it. Emmerdale is still retaining some charm.

I haven't seen any of these episodes, I must have gone through a phase of not watching them when they were originally on. I definitely don't remember Carol, I love her character. I know it's un-PC but it makes me chuckle whenever they call Alan Turner, Tubby.

@ScarletPower Grin when Archie calls him fatty or Turnip.
And Frank Potato made me chuckle for ages!

Cherrytree63 I loved that too. I love Archie's voice. Even now years later in Line of Duty and Wild Bill, his accent is still right broad Yorkshire.

....and when Turner went on his holiday, and he came back, and Archie said "It was like you'd never been away...except there were more room" LOL

Love Archie. He's brilliant. He needs a bigger role in Wild Bill.

What on earth became of Franks Holiday Village ?

I watched todays , the Holiday Village must've been mentioned at least 30 times Grin

Was the holiday village still there when Declan had Home Farm?
I seem to remember that was where Gen got married to Jai's brother (can't remember his name).

Wasn’t there a gas explosion or something when the Kings owned it?

I just burst out laughing when that woman burst in saying give me my baby Grin

I don't remember that, did they have Home Farm straight after the Tates or was there someone in between?
Do we ever see Meg Armstrong?
Is the "baby swapped at birth" story done and dusted? I'm not ready to leave the gentle farming stories behind just yet BlushGrin
although I am enjoying Classic Corrie and the Carmel/ Martin saga.

JaneJeffer · 08/08/2019 10:27

The baby swap story didn’t last too long. What was the point of that? Nowadays it would be dragged out for a month at least!

Tim King bought Home Farm from Zoe Tate.

I had 8 episodes to catch up on yesterday, so I fast forwarded through the less interesting bits (I'm a bit bored with Mark and his exams). What I noticed were the old soaps had much longer scenes, when I tried to do that on modern Emmerdale the scenes seem to last about 2.3 seconds each!

Probably to cater to everyone's poor attention span these days!
